this is an excellent little tactic to remind students to be critical thinkers - but I think i would go about it differently - i would hate to blow their trust in the teacher. Perhaps to do such a presentation then direct question them on the validity of the content within the same lesson would be better. I would hate to have them wlking around feeling totally duped for days.
This is a proposed ban on jumk food - while british and in usinf terms like Pounds not doallars it could well be a good lesson for considering an argument. Certainly a great intro activity for yr 7 in preparation for NAPLAN

Students from Prep to Year 12 had the opportunity to interact with special online guests through a variety of web tools.
Students can demonstrate their digital literacy skills through participation in a Book Rap based on their favourite Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) short listed title.
The ed dept of QLD has set up a site for elearning for students who cannot get back to school. This links to resources they have collated, while registered QE teachers can actually create virtual classrooms. I thought the resources might be useful and have checked a couple out.
