The following is what I believe to be good AT and useful software weeded out from all the freeware that's available. I have chosen freeware that's award winning; software that simplifies tasks; and/or software which I've tested on my computer. All my personal comments are in red. Although I make no guarantees, I believe many people will be pleased with this software.

The Hot Potatoes suite includes six applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web. Hot Potatoes is freeware, and you may use it for any purpose or project you like. It is freeware.

A freeware program that supplies a virtual breadboard. Additionally, the program will generate a symbolic schematic from the breadboard circuit and a pcb. Currently a Beta, so doesn't include a simulator, and also slows down dramatically with big circuits, but useful in planning an efficient layout for a breadboard. They also sell a nice breadboarding kit that includes basic electronics, a breadboard, and an Arduino, currently priced at 55 euro.

HTTrack is a free (GPL, libre/free software) and easy-to-use offline browser utility. It allows you to download a World Wide Web site from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images, and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the original site's relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the 'mirrored' website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system. WinHTTrack is the Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP/Vista release of HTTrack, and WebHTTrack the Linux/Unix/BSD release.
