The Shakespeare Authorship Controversy Mud-slinging One of the saddest and least helpful aspects of the Shakespeare authorship controversy is the mud-slinging indulged in by advocates of both 'sides' - the so-called 'Stratfordians' who represent the orthodox traditional viewpoint that the Stratford-upon-Avon actor William Shakespeare wrote the Shakespeare plays, and the 'anti-Stratfordians' (I prefer the term 'non-Stratfordians') who reckon that the actor did not actually write the plays himself but was a mask for the true author or authors.

Hi Huw, Your commentary a little brief. I'd like to see more critical appreciation in your selection of a website in support of Marlowe. This is a blog by "the Marlowe-Shakespeare Connection"? What are the credentials of this author? It's difficult to have much confidence in this site. It does provide plenty of food for thought and a link to this website http://www.marloweshakespeare.org/ which I feel offers better support. Can you also try and and a RELEVENT tag or tags to describe this info. in keywords..... PS is your pic of Marlowe?

I chose this because it offers anothers opinion on the topic of William Shakespeare's true identity. It does not offer sources and is unreliable as a source for a research topic, but definitely provides food for thought and allows you to know what others think. The whole debate is solely about the subjects opinion, so I guess it doesn't matter if there are no sources.

Many Oxfordians believe that the true author of Shakespeare's plays was an aristocrat named Edward De Vere. The evidence for this comprehensive, ranging from Edward de Vere's aristocratic knowledge of the upper classes through to his education and the structural similarities between his poetry and Shakespeare's.

I chose this phrase because I was interested in its potential metaphorical meaning and use. I was intrigued and swayed by the word 'cake'. :3 nomnom
