The Marlovian Theory: Was Christopher Marlowe William Shakespeare? - 0 views

  •
I chose this because it offers anothers opinion on the topic of William Shakespeare's true identity. It does not offer sources and is unreliable as a source for a research topic, but definitely provides food for thought and allows you to know what others think. The whole debate is solely about the subjects opinion, so I guess it doesn't matter if there are no sources.

    NO sources! Not very reliable you little child. :}

The meaning of this phrase is 'No more good things?'. It is an interesting meaning and fairly straight-forward. When I discovered the meaning I facepalmed; it was so obvious xD

How We Know That Shakespeare Wrote Shakespeare: The Historical Facts - 2 views

  •
5i. In a copy of the First Folio now at the Folger Shakespeare Library, the following poem is written in a hybrid secretary-italic hand from the 1620s: Here Shakespeare lies whom none but Death could Shake, And here shall lie till judgement all awake, When the last trumpet doth unclose his eyes, The wittiest poet in the world shall rise.

The Shakespeare Authorship Controversy - 0 views

  •
The Shakespeare Authorship Controversy Mud-slinging One of the saddest and least helpful aspects of the Shakespeare authorship controversy is the mud-slinging indulged in by advocates of both 'sides' - the so-called 'Stratfordians' who represent the orthodox traditional viewpoint that the Stratford-upon-Avon actor William Shakespeare wrote the Shakespeare plays, and the 'anti-Stratfordians' (I prefer the term 'non-Stratfordians') who reckon that the actor did not actually write the plays himself but was a mask for the true author or authors.

De Vere Authorship Argument at Absolute Shakespeare - 1 views

Many Oxfordians believe that the true author of Shakespeare's plays was an aristocrat named Edward De Vere. The evidence for this comprehensive, ranging from Edward de Vere's aristocratic knowledge of the upper classes through to his education and the structural similarities between his poetry and Shakespeare's.

phrases, sayings, idioms and expressions at The meaning and origin of the expression: A sea change Meaning A radical change or transformation. Origin From Shakespeare's The Tempest, 1610: ARIEL [sings]: Full fathom five thy father lies; Of his bones are coral made; Those are pearls that were his eyes: Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange.

Chris Muffin, I feel like saying 'you really are a muffin' ( 'cause I LOVE YOUR "nom de plume" ) but instead I'm just going to thank you for making this pick! What a find! It's extremely interesting since it's such a contemporary Australian phrase. The Shakespearean verse is beautiful yet so macabre.....I've must confess to using this turn of phrase completely oblivious to this original reference. I wonder, if anywhere in Shakespeare's works is there is a reference to a "tree change" ?! If there isn't, I challenge you make to a similarly styled verse.......

The Marlowe-Shakespeare Connection - 0 views

This is a website on the Shakespeare Marlowe conspiracy.
  •
Hi Huw, Your commentary a little brief. I'd like to see more critical appreciation in your selection of a website in support of Marlowe. This is a blog by "the Marlowe-Shakespeare Connection"? What are the credentials of this author? It's difficult to have much confidence in this site. It does provide plenty of food for thought and a link to this website http://www.marloweshakespeare.org/ which I feel offers better support. Can you also try and and a RELEVENT tag or tags to describe this info. in keywords..... PS is your pic of Marlowe?

Stratford is not a fraud - 1 views

The cases of the Oxfordians and Stratfordians As regards the Oxfordian arguments for their man, I find their case very weak. Their argument is mainly based on parallels between Edward de Vere's life and the plays. But as Jerome Harner points out in a thorough and quite humorous analysis of the Oxfordian arguments, the parallels are even stronger with regard to Bacon's life.
