This project, although adult-based, sends a powerful message via video; I believe it could inspire children to create similar projects of their own with a powerful message to the world. In this way, it may be used as part of transformational learning in our classrooms. 

Interesting article and link to website for possible web literacy information. The News Literacy Project (NLP) is a national educational program that taps experienced journalists to help middle and high school students "sort fact from fiction in the digital age." According to its website, the project teaches students critical-thinking skills that will help them become smarter consumers and creators of information across all types of media.

Mathtrain.TV is a free, educational "kids teaching kids" project from Mr. Marcos & his Students at Lincoln Middle School in Santa Monica, CA.

Ypsilanti Middle School students will have the option to participate in a more hands-on, project- and technology-based curriculum this fall. YMS will be among the first middle schools in the nation to adopt New Tech Network's national education model, which is the model used at Ypsilanti's New Tech High School at Ardis.

Life stacked the odds firmly against Sampson Davis, George Jenkins and Rameck Hunt. That didn't stop three Newark, N.J., boys born to broken homes and housing projects from growing up to become doctors. Today, their story becomes the focus of a month-long discussion by students at Central and Logan high schools.

Impassioned students whose lives connect to learning.  'Students work harder when they have an authentic audience.'  These students accumulated over 60,000n authentic viewers.
