Parathyroid carcinoma is a rare cause of primary hyperparathyroidism. When this malignancy is diagnosed, often there are distant metastases (usually liver and/or bone). Brown tumor is a localized form of osteitis fibrosa cystica; classic manifestation in bone of excess parathyroid hormone and this is a bening pathology. We encountered an unusual case of parathyroid carcinoma with images that mimicked metastatic bone tumors, whose differential diagnosis with brown tumor may be complicated. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan was requested for the evaluation of fluorodeoxyglucosa uptake of these lesions. PET/CT images showed multiple hypermetabolic images that mimicked multiple skeletal metastasis but brown tumors could not be dismissed.

In spite of being a minor cellular subset, cancer stem cells (CSCs) fundamentally contribute to intra-tumor heterogeneity. With the biological features of self-renewal and differentiation, CSCs confer a driving force for malignant recurrence and anti-cancer drug resistance in oncologic patients, which highlight an unmet clinical need calling for innovative medicine to Come up. Due to the elusiveness of specific biomarkers and biological regulation for CSCs, a number of precisely targeted therapeutic approaches against CSCs are at their infancy far from reaching the clinic. The classic Kaposi's disease is an uncommon endothelial malignant tumor, first described by Moricz Kaposi in 1872. It is commonly encountered in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), immunosuppression or organ transplantation. Eylid location is rare , mostly in patients with AIDS. We present a selected case with a purplish erythematous lesion in the upper eyelid in a patient who is HIV negative and immunocompetent, with an unremarkable general medical history.
