Kitchen Burn Prevention/Commercial - 1 views

  •
This website stresses how serious work related kitchen fires can be. It states that commercial kitchen fires are the most common among all kitchen fires and can be prevented by following their simple tips. Kitchens in busy restaurants are cluttered with too many personnel and too little room to maneuver, this can lead to a scalding or fire accident easily. The suggestions on this website make it simple to reduce the risk.

Stem cell transplant - 1 views

  •
This video helps to understand what happens in the marrow and cells of someone going through a stem cell transplant. My dad went through this over the summer and he was healthy enough and his cancer cells were low enough that they could use his own stem cells for the transplant. It is amazing that the immune system can drop to undetectable during this process and a person not develop infection, but that was the case for my dad. He was only hospitalized and given 1 bag of plasma and 1 blood transfusion during his recovery and never had any infection. New treatments for cancer are being found all the time, but this disease seems to affect the majority of families.

The Bionic Man on the Today Show - 1 views

  •
Wow! This is amazing and kinda scary at the same time. It gives a lot to consider about the future and progress that is being made, but at the same time makes me wonder how far is too far with what parts we replace and what keeps us alive. I have no doubt that one day they will have developed a replacement for every organ and part of the human body. While that is exciting and gives a lot of hope to many, the thought that a non-human can be created to be human freaks me out. See what you think of this video, it is pretty cool.

Healthy Aging Programs - 1 views

  •
I had never heard of a healthy aging program, but found it very interesting! What a great idea. It incorporates all of the activities and education that an older adult could be looking for. I know there's probably not many out there in our more rural communities, but it is an awesome program to keep the young at heart healthy and involved in all aspects of their lives.

Disabled Access to Buildings and Businesses: FAQ - FindLaw - 3 views

  •
This is a website that states the laws and codes of public accessibility. It is a great resource for businesses small or large to go to and see what is expected of them to become accessible to all public consumers. It also gets you to thinking about just how some buildings can become 100% accessible and the expense of it, but the need is there for so many to maintain a healthy and social lifestyle.
