Many clamoring for success in the competitive world- where resources are scarce and chased by too many- wish they could be more self-assured, self-confident and well, simply more assertive. Typical statements one hears include: "I wish I had voiced my idea earlier. Some one else has got the credit".

This relates to Unit 2 (the aging adult). I was talking with my grandmother and she made a statement, "it's hard to age gracefully". So, I went searching and I came across 10 tips on how to age gracefully. Most of them should be common sense and we've talked about them in class. Maybe we could give these tips to our older clients?

Many people are concerned that if they assert themselves others will think of their behavior as aggressive. But there is a difference between being assertive and aggressive. Assertive people state their opinions, while still being respectful of others. Aggressive people attack or ignore others' opinions in favor of their own.

This article brings visit ability closer to home, here in Knoxville Tennessee. The city of Knoxville is working towards getting publicly funded housing to be constructed to meet visitability standards. One statement in this article say that the difference in cost is minimal. This is good new when advocating visitability.
