HowStuffWorks "Roomba Navigation" | Diigo - 1 views

  •
When Roomba knocks into something, its bumper retracts, activating mechanical object sensors that tell Roomba it has encountered an obstacle. It then performs (and repeats) the sequential actions of backing up, rotating and moving forward until it finds a clear path.
  •
I like how this shows all the different types of sensors and where they are, and what path the roomba takes

Intro to Gears - 1 views

  • First....What is torque?: Torque is a twisting force- (it doesn't do any 'work' itself- it is simple an application of energy). Work (or 'stuff') happens, when torque is applied and movement occurs.

touch sensor - 1 views

  •
this shows why using the tutch sensor is a good idea to detect walls
  •
it seems that the robot is using a sensor on top of itself. this can be helpful because it can detect cilffs faster but it will detect them too soon and turn away. therefore, it won't clean everything. in my opinion we should place the sesors in front and not on the top

many sample codes for different reasons
  •
they are good codes because we can use them to help the robot carry out specific functions. also they are much simpler than the long codes that we have to make so in the long run these codes will make it easier and it will save us time
