Gateways to Academic Writing is a fully integrated program for students who are writing in English is one that I would recommend for anyone looking for a book that covers all the bases. I cannot find anything that needs to be added to this comprehensive coverage of writing, whether the student is using English as a first or subsequent language.

It is designed for students for whom English is a second language and plan to study in an English speaking country, however all students can benefit from reading relevant sections of this book. Furthermore, the authors demonstrate a thorough knowledge of this topic and an empathic understanding of the problems confronting students from a variety of countries.
