Bringing art to life, pt V: Roy LICHTENSTEIN in Masterpiece - 0 views

  •
There cannot be a conversation about pop art without a mention of Roy Lichenstein. Along with Andy Warhol, they're pretty much the the most well known artists in this movement, and his custom use of Benday dots and comic book style art are quite famous.Mike Ruiz's editorial Masterpiece for Zink Magazine makes use of Lichenstein's techniques and staple imagery (tears, telephones, speech bubbles) to create a dotted technicolor vision.

Bringing art to life, pt IV 1/2: More MAGRITTE in Simple is more by Kim HAN-JUN - 0 views

  •
While this Vogue Korea shoot entitled "Simple is More" by Kim Han Jun, isn't exactly a replica of Magritte's oeuvre (like in Sir Realist), it's clear that his work was the driving force behind its visuals. Magritte's staples are all over this, with the use of clouds, bowler hats, umbrellas and the posing of the scenary.
