I like this idea.  I might redesign it a little, just because I think it could be done in a more space saving fashion... Another idea, if you are using jars, but maybe not vintage lids, you could mount the jar lids under the cabinet and screw the lids into the jars like people do in their workshops with babyfood jars and hardware...

Have you ever given it a thought, that the broom you use to sweep your house clean can be used as a decorating item?? A couple of colorful pieces of paper can give you colorful flowers. Yes! You heard it right.
