Harvard University police are investigating a death threat that was apparently emailed to several hundred Harvard affiliates, among others, on Friday afternoon, according to Harvard University Police Department spokesperson Steven G. Catalano.Addressed to "All students at Harvard," the text of the email included what appeared to be racist language. The email referred to its intended recipients as "slit-eyes." Many, but not all, of the email's intended recipients appear to have Asian surnames.

Vice Provost for Advances in Learning Peter K. Bol admitted at Tuesday's meeting of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences to using cameras placed in classrooms to take photographs of attendance without telling the surveilled faculty and students. Bol's comments came in response to a question from Computer Science professor Harry R.
