Another great blog entry on a new art site. Also includes some ideas on how to use the tool in the classroom. Creates some pretty cool abstract art, and very easy to save/download. Would work well on a SMARTBoard

Fantastic for secondary English
"Free Educational Software
We find and review high-quality free learning software and websites - mostly for kids, but also for grown-ups".
Most of the software is for PC but the sites work. Worth a look, choose a category at the top
This is an interesting website which allows children to hear other children their age reading stories, some would be familiar, whilst others might be new. The stories are written by several authors who contribute to the site, and all the videos are screened before they are uploaded. Many of the videos include captions in other languages, so it may be a good tool for language learning, too.
This site could be recommended to parents as activities they could allow their child to engage in at home to develop some core computer/keyboard skills
This blog entry by the School Library Association of Victoria shares how Mooroopna Secondary College has been using Animoto to make book trailers, it also shares some hints on registering classes on the Animoto site to make videos. Could be useful for those who are participating in the Digital Literature Review Competition that is commencing soon!
This website looks like a great resource for those teachers/classes looking to collaborate globally with classes/people on certain topics. When you create a profile on the site, you specify how you are interested in using Skype with your class, and then from there you can search for classes/people with similar interests to organise a video conference.
