Included are tools and resources to help you form effective partnerships, assess community assets, understand risk factors and protective factors, generate maps of local and Federal resources, and search for evidence-based youth programs.

The Promising Practices Network (PPN) is dedicated to providing quality evidence-based information about what works to improve the lives of children, youth, and families. The PPN site features summaries of programs and practices that are proven to improve outcomes for children. All of the information on the site has been carefully screened for scientific rigor, relevance, and clarity. The information offered is organized around four major areas: Programs that Work, Research in Brief, Service Delivery, and Partner Pages.

Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, produced by the CDC with input from states, tracks health behaviors at the state level over time, such as attitudes to smoking, utilization of mammography and other screenings, and behaviors relating to nutrition and sex. Youth survey also available.

US National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) provides data sets on national health and social indicators, including US Health People 2010, youth and adolescent health and behavior, and much more.

CLIKS Online Data: County-City-Community Level Data on Kids from KIDS Count, an Annie E. Casey Foundation project, collects data on child well-being measures from state and local sources.
