This is a great site. There are so many useful videos that could be used to supplement lessons.

This website has a lot of different videos, pictures, audio. etc that could be used in the classroom. All you have to do is type in what you want to search, and you will be amazed with what comes up! For example, I typed in "The Water Cycle" and had 10 different videos pop up!

Glogster EDU - Create posters with text, images, music and video - 0 views

EduGlogster is a great presentation tool. It helps you create online "posters" and allows for an easy way for students to make presentations. The nice thing about EduGlogster over Glogster is that it is teacher monitored, so inappropriate content will be limited. If you sign up soon, you can get 200 student accounts. Before too much longer it's going to be limited to 100.

This is a really easy tool that Teachers can use to keep track of the homework they assigned. You can type in the different subjects that you teach. Click on the date and enter the assignments and their due date! Parents can access the Teacher's calendar by typing in the Teachers ID. This is a great way for parents to keep up-to-date with their child's assignments!

Kids' Zone-Create a Graph - 2 views

  •
Kid friendly on line tool for creating graphs of all kinds. It includes a tutorial, tools, graphing, and various ways to understand graphing in a kid friendly format
  •
This site allows you to easily create Bar, Line, Area, Pie, and XY graphs. When completed the graphs can then either be printed or saved. This site would work much better than excel for many simple student graphs, because of the complexities that excel sometimes leads to.
  •
When I found this website I was so excited! This website makes creating a graph SUPER easy! Whether you teach Math or Science, this is a great website to use for graphing. The students are still responsible to collecting the data and knowing where to put the information. All they have to do is choose the type of graph they want, type in the data, and then the graph is created!

This one is sort of a work in progress for me. I had worked with think.com before and now it has joined with ThinkQuest. I am trying to get enrolled through my school which is already registered. So I'll have to report back on how that goes. But, I did find some resources that were in the "library," which didn't require being registered. I even found a website with an activity about our friend, Mr. Dewey! :)

I just tried this one and will have to see if it is blocked at school or not. I think it would be interesting to use with students if it isn't blocked. It presents a prompt for you to respond to. For example, I just responded to the prompt, "Describe when you have used something for a purpose other than its intended one." Even if it is blocked at school, I could still use it to get prompts for my students to blog about. Since I sometimes get creative block for coming up with prompts, this could be really helpful.

I think Blogger is a great tool for students and teachers to use. I love having a free spot to speak my mind and be able to connect with others in (and out) of education. I have a plan to start having my students blog about the books that they are reading as a way to document their reading towards our 25 book campaign.

AudibleKids - Audio Books for Kids - 0 views

  •
This tool allows the user to download a book to your IPod for students or kids to listen to. This would be great for the reluntant readers or ones who struggle with reading. This site would be a great addition to the classroom.
  •
AudibleKids allows you to purchase an audible version of books. They are fairly expense but would be worth the money if it was a download you knew you would use repeatedly. This could be especially helpful when making adaptations and modifications for lower level readers. The other thing I really liked is that you can listen to a short samples for free.
  •
I use this to buy audio books for both personal and school use. If you buy a lot of audio books, they have membership packages which can allow you to buy books for about $7. That's a great price!

Summer Time Hangman - 0 views

  •
Students play hangman. They can play the game using different holidays as a theme (Fourth of July to St. Patrick's Day). It gives students the opportunity to use letters and sound relationships, and they have to figure out what words can be made by the letters chosen (or not). The students have to learn to look at the entire word in order to see what would make sense. It helps that the word they are trying to figure out corresponds with the holiday chosen.
