You are about to discover some amazing ways you can amplify your PBL experience in the 1 to 1 classroom. This workshop has been designed to meet the needs across the multiple device classrooms that are found all across the educational setting. For this reason there will be a lot of emphasis on pedagogy and integration of the tools in PBL. Because of the wide range of devices there will not be an emphasis on any one device. Please enjoy our journey into creating that One to One classroom that allows technology to transparently bring together the student centered learning, editing engagement, and authentic learning that Project Based Learning makes possible. School Grounds Projects Using Google Tools All the information needed to carry out Digital Fieldwork in the school grounds. The manual is based around a 6 session project investigating any aspect of the school grounds and covers the following topics: digital photography, blogging, Google Earth, Google Maps, digital video, and project management.

The sheer quantity of information students are now expected to process and manipulate makes critical thinking and information literacy skills more important than ever. To this end the Library has recently developed the ergo website, a learning and teaching tool for secondary teachers and students that supports the instruction of information literacy and critical thinking skills in the classroom. ergo provides not only online resources but also a conceptual framework for the development of the skills students need to evaluate information.

Micro blogging - personal network - personal learning network - Twitter is the backbone of most EduNerds PNL these days. How cool is this - now you can follow MC Hammer. Interesting times. Twitter is a great collaborative tool, and great communication for groups to collaborate or micro/live blog.

Unit of work for Second Classroom Project. Students undertake a PBL task using Skoolaborate (http://www.skoolaborate.com) as thier presentation tool. Uses Group Ning for journal and student blog, Group FlickR to document progress. Project could also work using Google Sketch Up and Voice Thread. Final project solutions will be rezzed in Second Life on the Island of Jokadia for external viewing by PBL teachers. Time frame 6 weeks.
