I get news updates on my phone, and I saw an article about the possibility of Bieber being the father of a fan's child. I'm glad he is taking the DNA test, but the main point of me posting this article is that Bieber is an idol for younger kids today. If it turns out he did father a child at 16, he will be letting down many fans. And a butterfly effect could happen where all of a sudden the tweens and teens that are his biggest fans may start thinking that engaging in sexual activity when they are young is ok. If Bieber can do it, why can't they? By the way, I'm using the "tag" for this article loosely!
FORTUNE -- Jon Corzine, what were you thinking? It's going to be tough to salvage the good parts of a long, lucrative career in finance after the dust clears from this current mess, even in its rosiest of outcomes.
WASHINGTON (CNNMoney) -- Union groups don't like big parts of a new bipartisan proposal in the Senate to save the U.S. Postal Service that would cut services and workers.
Article on how more 25-34 year olds are staying at home with the parents then getting their own place. A lot of these parents are enabling their kids instead of pushing them out to find their own way.
Union groups are not fond of the new plan that would cut jobs and services. The postal services have been going downhill since online services have become more convenient for the population.
This is a feel good story, and actually goes along with one of the main industries in SoDak, hunting. The state of Wisconsin is promoting ethics by giving out awards to the most ethical hunters.
Interesting article on how 75 percent graduating seniors in South Dakota graduate with debt. This does not have a lot to do with ethics, but thought it was interesting none the less. South Dakota rates 1 for the proportion.
Top sustainability and CSR priorities for those companies in the year ahead, the
survey found, were human rights and workers’ rights, climate change, and the
availability and quality of water on a global basis.
I'm curious how serious the "somewhat optimistic" 62% are, but this is a good summary of the generally upward trending sustainability efforts in business.
Once again sustainability is a vital aspect of the success of a business. If shareholders do not see companies making strides towards managing their resources efficiently, they will not be invested for long.
