CV from a Dean and Professor at Rose-Hulman, a private four-year engineering institute in Indiana. I was searching for a different Carnegie classification than my previous posts, but still within my discipline. This document is labeled as a CV, but I suspect this is an abridged version for the web.

Sections of a CV - 0 views

  •
This site has more subsections as well as a slightly different way to organize the CV. It does mention that we should keep in mind what type of job we are applying for. Is it a research or teaching position? This could determine if we will list research or teaching experience first.

Faculty CV Website Example - 0 views

  •
I have noticed a trend with universities. There seems to be more systems that support a CV format. This does away with a professor compiling their information in a separate document. I know the University of Texas at Arlington has a system called Mertis. This allows for their faculty members to input information instead of a CV. Has anyone else noticed this? I wanted to post this website one because it has the sections, but is a more condensed version.

I like the suggestions to make the CV easy to skim, make the important parts stand out, not use course codes for classes, use page numbers, and putting things in reverse chronological order.
  •
I found this top 10 list easy to identify with and use as a review guide for my own CV.
  •
Useful list of things to avoid on CVs

I found this to be very helpful because there are many pages with samples of CVs and how to set up CVs (all very helpful), but sometimes I feel that looking at what not to do is equally as helpful.
