Registration:
If you are interested having staff attend the iPad Summit please send an email to ddoty@mt.gov with a listing of the staff who you wish to have attend. For each staff person you must submit the following information: Name, email address, and position. Each summit is limited to 25 attendees. Dates and locations subject to change depending on interest level. What:
The iPad Summit consists of led discussion and Show and Share sessions. This is not a lecture day, everyone helps to teach and learn. Attendees must have an iPad and must be familiar with how to use it. Ideally, attendees are daily users who are looking for more information.  Attendees are typically speech-language providers and special education teachers/paraprofessionals. Psychologists and OT/PTs have also attended. Lunch is on-site and is provided by OPI. When/Where:

What:
This workshop will employ the "Many Birds Approach" from the Framework for Implementation of Indian Education for All (IEfA) to support teachers as they develop understanding of IEfA contexts and content, while addressing the skills and concepts required to implement the Montana Common Core Standards. Teachers will leave with a dozen new strategies for close analytic reading practiced in the context of some of the highly developed, and Common Core aligned, IEfA Language Arts, Social Studies and Science lessons. Strategies practiced can be taken the next day into the classroom. Demonstrations will span multiple grade levels and content areas and will be debriefed through the lens of the MCCS and the Framework's approach to integration. If you are looking for a way to jump start your implementation of the Common Core Standards and IEfA, this is the workshop of YOU.  This workshop is available free for MSUB students.

This course will begin by providing basic historical and current-day explanations of supported employment practices across the Pacific Northwest and the United States. Webinar will highlight the changing roles and responsibilities of stakeholders within the supported employment movement, as well as basic value principles such as people first language and self -determination. This learning seminar is designed to expand understanding and awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in children and develop competencies for parents, mental health professionals, teachers and healthcare providers. Participants will be able to better understand and treat children diagnosed with symptoms on the Autism Spectrum. Dr. James Rimmer, Director of the Lakeshore Foundation/University of Alabama at Birmingham Research Collaborative will be speaking on the different barriers and improvements in physical activity in individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD). He has been developing and overseeing physical activity programs for people with disabilities for over thirty years. Many studies have found that being overweight is highly prevalent in adults with IDD.  He will explore factors that play a role in reduced physical activity and discuss lifestyle choices and organizational change to improve the health of people with IDD.  When:
