Robert Latimer committed euthanasia to his daughter Tracy. She was a 12 year old who functioned at the level of a 3 month year old. She was in constant excruciating pain, could not talk, move or feed herself. Robert ended up getting charged with 1st degree murder, and after main court cases got sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Sue Rodriguez was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease, a fatal and painful disease. She fought to the Supreme Court of Canada to obtain the right to commit assisted suicide, but lost twice. She ended up committing assisted suicide with the help of an anonymous physician.

Omar Khadr was 15 when he go sentenced to 40 years in prison. He's originally from Toronto, and was sent to Guantanamo Bay at 15 years old. Canada refused to have Omar come to Canada to serve him with the Canadian Justic System, rather then that of the United States. Had Omar been in Canada, he would not have been sentenced for 40 years and would definitely not have been brought to Guantanamo bay, which is a prison for only the most dangerous criminals. Omar was only a teenager when he committed the crime, he most certainly does not deserve a 40 year sentence in prison.

Dan Dennett is a philosopher and in this video, he speaks about how hard it is to change people's consciousness. Basically, it's hard to change the opinion of somebody. I watched this video because it helped me write my blog on: what it means to be human. This video also helped me with my sociology project on teen ignorance. Dan Dennett speaks about apathy near the middle of the video, which has to do with my project.

This video speaks about the human evolution, and what makes somebody human. It helped me write my blog because it gave me some other ideas that I had never thought of.
