This site has a great idea of how to teach kids letters. The source has key tips of what letters to combine, teach first, and which letters will be the hardest. If you are looking at how to teach kids in general, this site is interesting because the information is broken down, and there is general ideas of how young kids learn.

This site helps kids who are studying for their drivers permit. This website is useful background studying for driver ed classes, and basic information of Vermont driving.

I saw Robin's bookmark of Wikipedia and was at first confused, but then realized how much I too rely on Wikipedia. Wikipedia browsing accounts for at least 1/3 of all of my computer usage. Literally whenever I find myself interested in a topic, Wikipedia is the first site I look at. The page "/wiki/Portal:Current_events" is even my primary news source. I love the crowdsourcing of Wikipedia. If an entry is erroneous, the crowd catches and improves it. Looking forward to seeing lots of contributions from PL kids who are creating knowledge daily. Be sure to post to Wikipedia - that is the strength of the tool!

This site is a great blog for people teaching kids. The specific blog entry here gives an idea to teachers how to teach the students independence by prompting them. I recommend this blog to any one going into the teaching field

This website was about speech language therapy which covered the different disorders within both speech and language disorder. It also covered the different therapies that are offered, when someone should peruse therapy and more. Interesting site to read, I learned a lot.

ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington VT is a place where I have had the pleasure to go for school trips as a younger kid. I also had the opportunity to go on October 23, 2014. Being part of the Pathways Program I get lots of opportunities to meet and learn from experts on my topics. Today I got to meet Steve Smith, an aquarium keeper at the Echo. Shadowing him and his interns helped me understand the deeper care and maintenance of keeping an aquariums. I learned that when feeding your fish watch the way they act when its feeding time. If they stay at the top waiting for food you should slowly give more until they act uninterested. I also learned that the graits in the filters need to be cleaned one or more a week. Only rinse with water because the there is a certain bacteria that the fish need. I also have to look at ammonia in the water. If there is too much I need to drain 2/3s of the water and add new water to the tank. I found it very helpful to hear this information and I look forward to going again soon.
