Persian / Iranian streaming radio - 0 views

This is a radio website that streams live radio broadcasts of Persian music. I can't understand a thing but it's fun to try to listen for familiar words. The website itself is in English so you can read music updates. There is also an interview section where you can listen to interviews of Persian bands and singers.

This is a great site for learning the names of the colors in Farsi. It has the name of the color spelled phonetically and in the Farsi alphabet. Additionally, it shows a picture of the color and gives the option to have the name read aloud.

Iranian Culture: Film - 2 views

  •
Article from the The International about the challenges and successes of the Iranian film industry.

I love Iranian films. I think this article picked up on many key struggles that Iranian filmmakers face. Even though the picture shows pirated movies being sold, the article does not discuss the implications it has on filmmakers or even what it says about the people in Iran who buy them. From what I have read from other articles, it seems as though Iranian films are more acclaimed in Western countries- not only because of censorship laws but the Iranian public's choice of what movies to watch. TASTE OF CHERRY, mentioned in the article, is one of my favorite films.
