gtk2-perl is the collective name for a set of perl bindings for Gtk+ 2.x and various related libraries. These modules make it easy to write Gtk and Gnome applications using a natural, perlish, object-oriented syntax.

f your XML parsing requirements can be boiled down to "slurp an XML file into a hash", then XML::Simple is very likely all you need. However, many people who start using XML::Simple continue to cling to the module even when their requirements have outgrown it. Most often, it's fear of the unknown that keeps them from 'stepping up'; to a more capable module. In this article, I'm going to attempt to dispel some of that fear by comparing using XML::LibXML to using XML::Simple.

The qpsmtpd daemon, on the other hand, is written in pure Perl and can be customized easily. It consists of a core that implements a complete SMTP server, and a number of plug-ins that enhance the operations of the server. These plug-ins allow for the checking of recipients and senders, as well as virus scanning, spam checking, blocking lists (DNS and RHS), SMTP AUTH and TLS.
