  • Die Bildungsverleger kritisierten auf ihrer Jahresversammlung speziell die Haltung von Ländern und Gemeinden, bei den Etats für Bildungsmedien immer weiter zu sparen
  • In 2008 war der Umsatz mit Schulbüchern und Bildungssoftware in den allgemein- und berufsbildenden Schulen um 4-5 % gesunken und fiel von 350 auf 333 Mio. € Branchenumsatz. Entscheidend dafür war ein Rückgang bei den privaten Schulbuchausgaben der Eltern und Schüler durch Änderungen der Lernmittelfreiheit - wie die Tatsache, dass die staatlichen Ausgaben bundesweit nicht entsprechend angehoben wurden.
  • Besonders wichtig für die Bildungsverlage ist ein effektiv funktionierendes Urheberrecht - das sie indes bedroht sehen durch laufende Forderungen nach open-access-Regelungen, nach Ausweitung der Schrankenregelungen und nach kostenlosen Nutzungsmöglichkeiten.
