I think Coding is so important.  A couple or reasons I feel it is important is because of the critical thinking and also the creativity it allows students in a classroom setting.  This website is based on Scratch but Code.org is also a great resource.

This website offers many tools for analyzing and monitoring progress.  The website gives an explanation for several tools, as well as, a downloadable form for teachers to use in the classroom or online.
