Searching tools for kids, teens, and teachers

Many educators are intrigued by the use of educational technology in their classrooms and with their students. They want to move past the productivity stage to the point of truly enhancing their own teaching and their students' learning through educational tools.

This website is great! It has information on multiple technology tools you can use in the classroom. On the side bar you can choose any grade level and subject area and find online activities for students to play with and enhance their learning. I chose this resource for chapter 4 because it is a great site for educators to find activities and ideas on how to integrate technology into their classroom.

This article list and describes different tools to be used for technology integration. It gives examples for not only teachers to use, but also for school administration. It also gives quoted remarks on technology in the classroom from student perspectives.

This is a website to help prevent cyberbullying. There are a variety of helpful tools such as information about how to be responsible on social media. There are training opportunities to help stop cyberbullying. There are many other helpful tools that might be useful for teachers and parents.

This is a good resource because it has ways for teachers to create videos for their classroom without having to download and pay for any software.

Educators and students are quickly becoming more comfortable with classroom technology, allowing them to shift from thinking about the technical side of integrating a new tool to focusing on how it improves learning. While the sheer number of education apps is still overwhelming, increasingly teachers have found what works for them and are sticking to them.

This is a great resource for chapter 7, because it incorporates the different types of websites students and teachers need to use, and it also provides, those of us with beneficial information (websites) for when we become teachers in the future.

This Website is great for teachers. It provides teachers with lesson plans, Common Core material, IPad resources, technology tools, and online art.

Livebinders is a great place for teachers and students to organize their research and attach the corresponding resources. It is just like a binder with tabs. Tabs within tabs can also be created. These binders can be shared among fellow professionals and others as well.

This website shows different ways for teachers to communicate with parents and students. Some ways are older ways like phoning home.

I chose this article to help me understand what PBL actually is and how it contributes to student's learning in the classroom. Project-Based Learning (PBL) shifts classroom activity away from teacher-centered instruction and emphasizes student-centered projects where the teacher can build relationships with students by acting as their coach, facilitator, and co-learner.

This is a website within classjump.com (collaboration tool) that one school created so teachers, faculty, students, and parents can collaborate and keep open lines of communication. From this site, you can view any teachers lesson plan for any particular class, as well as, get updated on upcoming events. Within this one site, there are many subpages that are easily organized so that any teacher, student, or parent can access the information they need. Assignments, payments, events, and many other things have been collaborated on this one website to make communication at any level much easier.

Edmodo is a website similar to facebook that corresponds to a site that is similar to D2L. If a school does not have their own D2L, Edmodo is a good site to use for one.

Edmodo is an easy way to get your students connected so they can safely collaborate, get and stay organized, and access assignments, grades, and school messages.

My daughter's school uses Edmodo and it works great for students. Teachers assign homework, and students ask follow-up questions while completing the assignment or anything concerning the class lesson.

How Can Teachers Use It? Undoubtedly, Educreations is an excellent tool for creating and sharing multimedia lessons for you and your students. Teachers can invite students to lessons with a link they send to students via the app or with a code; email lessons; embed them within a blog or website; or share via Facebook, Twitter, or on the Educreations website.

A great app for teachers and students to create presentations

This site is a wonderful example of a standards connector webpage. It allows you to compile lesson plans and attach the standards along with the concepts you are teaching. It not only has Common Core (which is what most sites have), but it also has the standards for Non-Common Core sites. This is a great resource.
