This is an online tool for students with choices of way to learn. Students are allow to choose ways of learning and also to demonstrating what they did for their assignments. This online tool is meant to engage and accommodate for all students in general.

I chose this resource because it talks about how teachers can use technology to enhance teaching and learning. It gives access to teaching and learning tools that teachers could use in the classroom. It discusses the types of learning they could use each of these tools for as well.

"Cult of Pedagogy" is a website and a place for teachers to unite and explore ideas together through a blog, podcast, and posts. The main page goes into detail about what Project Based Learning entails. This website uses the analogy "project based learning, the content is baked inside of a long-term project, a real-world problem students need to solve in a creative and authentic way. In the process of solving the problem, students also meet required standards, but this work is integrated into the project, not separate from it". This is a key component in understanding PBL because it is more than just solving a basic math problem. The really cool thing about this website is that it connects the viewer to a podcast called "Cult of Pedagogy". Teacher's can listen to this broadcast to get ideas about teaching and PBL. There is also a tab for teaching materials. The materials included are e-book template, google drive basics, and icebreakers that all educators can utilize when implementing Project Based Learning into their classroom. Overall, this is a great tool created by an educator for all.

This is a nice blended learning tool kit, with listings of free Courseware, free Online Texts, and free Video Resources, followed by a section offering tools for 'remixing'.

This is a blog post from someone who coaches project based learning teachers. It can help everyone working on their own project based learning creation skills as well as help teachers coach fellow teachers on incorporating such an important learning tool into their classrooms.

X-ray Goggles is another great tool that Mozilla makes to help students learn the code that powers much of what they see on the Web. X-ray Goggles is a free tool that lets you remix any page that you find on the Internet. (Note, it doesn't change the way others see the page, it only changes the way that you see it). To use X-ray Goggles you need to install it in your Chrome or Firefox bookmarks bar. Then you can launch it on any webpage. When you launch X-ray Goggles you will be able to select images and text on a page and then shown the code behind your selection. This was our first pick out of the resources. It's an education website that we used to find quality apps best for our students learning. Instead of it being just a general search engine we could put specifics in place to narrow our search.

This is a GREAT website for teachers of ALL ages. It provides lesson plans (PDF and online versions), interactive games, classroom posters, and numerous other teaching tools for teaching students about Digital Citizenship. It also has these tools for other topics like EdTech and Professional Development.

This social bookmarking website is great for teachers because it has numerous different ways for parents and educators to find the most educational tools for your student. They have iPad apps, learning websites, and activities for students to participate in to make learning more focused on that child.

According to the textbook, this is a great source to use to "bundle" all of one lessor, or a whole course into one, easy to use site. By using My Big Campus, you are using Web-Based Learning Management Systems (LMS) to incorporate student management tools into your daily learning.

A Learning Management Systems is a wonderful tool that gives you access to class information at your fingertips! The features include: syllabi, teaching materials, quizzes, tests, survey, email, discussion forums, automatic grade book and drop box, just to name a few. Most school districts provide an LMS but if not, My Big Campus is a good resource.

This website goes into detail about what Project Based Learning is. This is a great tool other than the textbook to get a complete grasp on the concept. Not only does it describe PBL as "a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge", but it also provides steps to follow when creating an engaging PBL assignment lesson plan. These steps include: Key Knowledge, Challenging Problem, Sustained Inquiry, Authenticity, Student Voice & Choice, Reflection, Critique & Revision, and Public Product. Following this list of steps and making sure the lesson plan provides all of these points will make for an engaging class. Another component this website contains is a blog for educators to post about the Project Based lessons they implemented in the classroom. I believe sharing ideas with other teachers is one of the most helpful ways to improve your own teaching because you receive feedback and encouragement to what you are doing well, and what can be changed for the benefit of the class.
