Collaborize Classroom is a great resource for teachers to connect with their students.  They can quickly make an easy and free website where they can post assignments, discussions, videos, tests and more.  It is also safe because to log into the classroom's page, the student must have a password.  It would be a really good tool to use if there is a snow day or a student is sick so that the class or an individual student does not get behind.  There are options to post different assignments over the same topic that can relate to individual's learning, record grades, and share with other teachers.  Overall, if a teacher needed a website for their class, wanted it to be private, did not care about the appearance, and needed many features to accommodate their needs, Collaborize Classroom would be a great option.

Edmodo is a great tool for teachers who need a quick an easy way to communicate with students.  It has been compared to Facebook for a classroom, so the teacher can post casually but still formally. It is a good resource for teachers to put the homework for the next day or reviews for tests so that the students have access easily.  It seems like it replaces the need for emailing students with constant updates.  The only downfall, which could also be seen as a benefit, is that it requires a code in order to enter into the page.  It is a good resource for teachers of middle school and high school.

Gooru Learning is a website that offers free lessons and practice quizzes in order for students to learn information.  This is a good resource for students because they can easily search a subject they do not understand, go through a lesson over it, and take a quiz to assess how much they truly understand.  It is also really helpful for teachers because they can find other colleagues' lessons and use them in their own classroom.  Also, if they can not find a lesson already on Gooru that fits their needs, they can create their own lesson giving access to their students and any other students who might need help with the subject all over the world.

WordPress is a website that offers users the ability to create their own customized website.  They have free domains and paid ones.  This option would be really good for teachers who want an actual website devoted to their class.  There are options to create blog posts and put them under categories such as: weekly newsletter, links to outside sources, students, parents, etc.  Basically it gives the teacher the option to create many categories that the students and parents can access whenever they need to.  It also has the option to post at set times which would be good for a weekly blog post.  I think this website would be good for teachers who teach younger students to get the parents more involved and let them know what their kids are learning.

Wix has a similar idea as wordpress in that they both provide the user with their own website; however, the details are different.  Wix offers a wider variety to customize the website in function and appearance.  It has the option for free domains as well as paid ones.  It would be very good for teachers to inform parents what they are doing in their classroom and for older students to check for assignments and stay connected with their teacher outside of class.
