Why is collaboration important? It enables us to share resources, achieve shared goals, share new ideas and new perspectives. http://www.calgaryscientific.com/blog/bid/191265/What-does-true-online-collaboration-mean

True online collaboration is when we can utilize software to truly work with others as if they were here in the room with us - geography is no longer a barrier.

What does the future of collaboration look like? We foresee a doctor using any device they have handy and within seconds have all information on any patient no matter where they are located or where their data is located. We see that with one touch, instant collaboration. It will feel like being in the room with all the people you work with and all the information that you need.

This is a provocative title. The actual blog seems to be about the PureWeb collaboration tool, so in a sense it is a sales pitch. However, the blog does give a brief overview of what many of us look for when we seek to collaborate with others: "share resources, achieve shared goals, share new ideas and new perspectives."
