Considering the heavy female demographic happening on Pinterest, we were surprised to find the U.S. Army had a well-stocked profile, until we checked out the rest of their online goings-on. The Army is all up on the Internet. And, in a very active way -- it doesn't just have social media profiles to have its hand in the future. It has robust profiles on various sites, ranging from the big social media players like Twitter to newbs like Pinterest, each appropriately using the platform as a PR tool. It's really quite impressive for such an established, bureaucratic organization that one would assume would stink at the Web.

Zygote offers manipulable, three-dimensional, anatomical models of the male and female human bodies. This site is gorgeous. It's a singular page with either a female or male model, but those models are so beautifully rendered that users don't realize that they're only looking at a single page. Organs and entire systems jump off the screen when revealed. The attention to detail is impressive once users get passed the initial, clothed version of the models. (Because they will encounter only under-the-skin views of body parts, kids in grades six and up should be able zygote bodyto avoid inappropriate distractions while exploring this site.)

Oh Noah! is a PBS-based website that offers students a multi-pronged approach to learning Spanish vocab. With its funny, story-based interface, kids are encouraged to take an easygoing, just-try-it approach to learning languages. Students who are learning Spanish, as well as Spanish speakers who are learning English (perfect for a multilingual classroom), could benefit.
