Voice Cards Are Not Flashcards !! for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store - 1 views

  •
"Voice Cards are an innovative way to study and a replacement for all the flashcard/notecard apps out there!! The iPhone is not made to type flashcards, thus comes Voice Cards, an innovative way to replace them all! Start out by creating sets just as you would with notecards/flashcards, except you create a voice recording of your questions/answers in set of Voice Cards! You can then play them back in ways one has not though of before. Turn on 'Touchpad' mode to swipe left and right between questions, then swipe up to play the question, and swipe down to play the question! Turn on 'Shake' mode to shake between questions and answers. Shake once to place the question, then shake again to play the answers! Then it automatically moves to the next question with the next shake! Set 'Autoplay' mode and select your interval of 1, 5, or 10 seconds. Press play and the questions followed by answers will play with a delay in between! You can even exit the app and Voice Cards will atomically keep going in the background while you surf the web or answer your email! Turn on 'Shuffle' mode to randomize your Voices Cards in all three mode!!"

" I tested three different voice-input keyboards: Jelly Bean's default (Google voice typing), Swype, and TouchPal. Each of these keyboards offers voice recognition which you can use to dictate emails, text messages, notes, and anything else you can think of. The feature is very easy to use in all these apps - simply tap the voice icon and start talking."

Voice by Choice on Vimeo - 3 views

  •
"Background: As a result of a variety of disabilities, some people are unable to speak using their bodies alone. Some of these people use voice enabled augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices sometimes called VOCA's. These consist of some form of input interface and generate synthetic speech. The user's choice of voices is very limited, usually constrained to selecting one of a small set of installed 'voices'. The result is that when a number of users get together it can be difficult to know who is speaking at any one time particularly if there are a number of people using the same voice."

"Voice4Me is designed as a quick and simple way to bring speech to users who have difficulty speaking. When the user clicks on a picture, the computer responds by reading the text assigned to the picture. For example, if the user clicks on a picture of a moon, the computer may respond by saying "I am tired, it is time for bed." Voice4Me allows the settings to be customized with pictures and text to meet the needs of the user. Also, there is a blank text box for the user to type a few sentences at a time for the computer to read."
