Postdoctoral AHA Strategically Focused Research Network Fellowship Opportunities - 0 views

    Supported by the American Heart Association Strategically Focused Research Networks, there is a two-year postdoctoral fellowship opportunity listed by institution for the funded research networks. Fellows with a strong interest in either prevention, hypertension, disparities, women's health, or heart failure-related to cardiovascular disease and/or stroke research, commitment to multi-disciplinary team science approach at the population, clinical and basic science levels and excellent communication skills. The center fellow will be highly involved in the projects being proposed by their institution, will be encouraged to collaborate with fellows across the network, and work closely with their Center Director and Training Director on their Center's individualized multidisciplinary training plan.     The Association for Women in Slavic Studies (AWSS) Graduate Research Prize is awarded annually to fund promising graduate-level research in any field of Slavic/East European/Central Asian studies by a woman or on a topic in Women's or Gender Studies related to Slavic Studies/East Europe/Central Asia by either a woman or a man. Graduate students who are at any stage of master's or doctoral level research are eligible. Only graduate students are eligible for this prize.

    The Society for Women's Health Research (SWHR) is pleased to announce a travel award opportunity for neuroscience students to present their research on sex differences in the brain at a scientific conference in 2014. SWHR is accepting applications for travel awards sponsored by Donald G. and Darel Stein in memory of Anne Hammer. Awardees must provide evidence that the poster or oral presentation has been accepted for inclusion in the conference. Funds can be used to pay for expenses associated with attending a neuroscience-related conference, including an abstract submission fee, society membership and/or conference registration, and travel and/or lodging. The research presented must stem from a current project on sex differences in neuroscience.

Since the organization'' founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the important issues of the day, whether educational, social, economic, or political. AAUW currently is accepting applications for its Career Development Grants program, which provides funding to women who hold a bachelor's degree and are preparing to change careers or re-enter the workforce. Grants of up to $12,000 will be awarded to provide support for course work beyond a bachelor's degree, including a master's degree, second bachelor's degree, certification program, or specialized training in technical or professional fields.
