Founded in 1996, the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research provides funding for multiple efforts, including funding for innovative research pilot studies, scholar grants to up-and-coming investigators to encourage careers in ovarian cancer research, conducting public early detection screening for ovarian cancer, and producing nationally and internationally attended research symposia on ovarian cancer. To that end, the center is accepting applications for pilot study projects in ovarian cancer research. Through the center's Pilot Study Program, approximately ten one-year $75,000 grants will be awarded to support investigator-initiated projects in all areas of ovarian cancer research. Projects designed to analyze data from already funded clinical trials also will be considered. Priority will be given to proposals that are innovative, multidisciplinary, likely to lead to submission of grant applications for independently funded investigations, and have translational research potential.

Applicants for the funds may be students or faculty. The project, program, or entrepreneurial idea must be created by, led by or benefit women. Grants are awarded in values of $2500 to $20,000. While we prefer the base grant to be $5,000, we are considering a limited number of $2500 which will be required to show high impact. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The grants must be submitted online via the link below and must include a 2-minute video. Applicants will be narrowed to a pool of 10-15 finalists by our M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Grants Committee. This committee will review applications; contact applicants if additional information is required, and present the finalists to the M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Steering Committee and Development Staff. Grant deadline for this year is Feb. 9, 2018. These finalists will perform in a fast-pitch style Hawk Tank event on April 11, 2018. Finalists will be offered fast-pitch training courtesy of the Farmers School of Business - school of Entrepreneurship, and will receive coaching and support. They will then pitch their idea in 5 minutes or less on April 11, 2018 at the event. Giving Circle members are the voters who will determine winners. Absentee voters will be given the option to vote online. Winners will be announced that night or the next day at the Symposium, to be determined.

Through the program, the foundation will award grants of up to $5,000 in support of research projects focused on school nurses' impact on health disparities, students with chronic health conditions, and student safety; innovative models of school nursing practice; cost-benefit analyses of school nursing; and/or the impact of school nurse activities on student health and education outcomes.

The purpose of this Indian Health Service (IHS) cooperative agreement is to recruit, retain, graduate and increase the number of registered nurses, certified nurse midwives and nurse practitioners who deliver health care services to American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. The primary objectives of this cooperative agreement grant award are to: (1) recruit and train AI/AN individuals to be baccalaureate prepared nurses; (2) facilitate associate degree registered nurses becoming baccalaureate prepared registered nurses; (3) provide a program that prepares practicing registered nurses for advanced nursing education; (4) provide a program that encourages registered nurses and advanced practice nurses to provide or continue to provide, health care services to AI/AN communities; and (5) provide scholarships to AI/AN individuals that will cover tuition, books, fees, room and board, stipend for living expenses, or other expenses incurred in connection with baccalaureate level nursing or advanced practice nursing programs. This notice of funding opportunity solicits applications that provide a preference to AI/AN students and a curriculum with a rural health and public health focus.

To that end, STTI is accepting applications for its 2019 Joan K. Stout, RN Research Grant, which is named in honor of Hugoton Foundation president Joan K. Stout, RN, FAAN, in recognition of her support of the role of simulation and technology by nurses incorporating evidence-based patient care. Through the program, grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded in support of ongoing evidence-based study by nurse researchers on the impact of the practice of nurse-led simulation in improving quality of care in clinical and/or academic settings with potential for further funding and ongoing research.

Established in 1986, the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association represents the specialty of palliative nursing and provides support for the profession through education programs, research initiatives, and advocacy. In support of this mission, the association is accepting applications for its HPNF Certification Research Grant. Studies done in the acute-care setting suggest that care environments with a higher proportion of certified nurses have better patient outcomes. Replicating this research in the hospice or palliative care environment has potential to advance the understanding of the value of palliative nursing certification. Through the program, a single grant of up to $15,000 will be awarded to an exploratory, pilot, or feasibility study with the potential to lead to a larger-scale project that can help build a better understanding of the impact of palliative nursing certification on patient outcomes.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), issued by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), invites eligible United States small business concerns (SBCs) to submit Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant applications. United States SBCs that have the research capabilities and technological expertise to contribute to the R&D mission(s) of the NIH awarding components identified in this FOA are encouraged to submit STTR grant applications in response to identified topics (see PHS 2019-2 SBIR/STTR Program Descriptions and Research Topics for NIH.

The HPNF Certification Research Grant is intended to provide investigators with resources to conduct exploratory, pilot or feasibility studies that will lead to larger scale projects linking certification with patient outcomes. Examples include collecting preliminary data about the distribution of certification qualifications among staff of different types of organizations or examining datasets from health care systems for patterns of staffing and outcomes. One grant of up to $15,000 will be awarded annually. Proposals for 2020 are due on or before July 1st. The funding date is September 1, 2020.

Through this RFP it is our intent to support patient-focused programs that help patients and providers address the heightened medical and educational needs of patients with PI during this pandemic. Priority will be awarded to projects that leverage the utilization of innovative technology platforms for distant learning to reach the intended audience with a focus on patient outreach, medical support and telework.

This is an invitation for collaborative proposals which focus on addressing the challenges Primary Care Providers experience in serving Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities during pandemic and/or emergency situations. Proposals should use one of the following approaches: Educational materials: Develop additional educational resources related to pandemic and/or emergency response for Primary Care Providers who serve adults with I/DD Implementation: Supports implementation of models, i.e. projects that support community-based PCPs in providing care to adults with I/DD during pandemic and/or emergency situations Research: Supports regional or national research related to Primary Care Providers who serve adults with I/DD role during pandemic and emergency situations A secondary goal of this RFP is to foster new partnerships or significantly enhance existing partnerships between disability organizations, advocates, community organizations, and healthcare providers. Grants of up to $50,000 (each) for a 1-year period will be awarded.

Candidates must be: A registered nurse who works directly with heart failure patients and their families. Must be an HFSA member continuously since January 2011.

HEALTH OUTCOMES RESEARCH: Outcomes research spans a broad spectrum of issues from studies evaluating the effectiveness of a particular pharmaceutical intervention to the impact of reimbursement policies on the outcomes of care. It also ranges from the development and use of tools to perform patient-based assessments to analyses of the best way to disseminate the results of outcomes research to providers or consumers to encourage behavior change. Outcomes research incorporates a variety of research methods from various disciplines. The application of outcomes research principles in evaluating the design, delivery, and effectiveness of pharmaceuticals includes the following general areas: * Burden of Disease * Comparative Effectiveness Research * Compliance/Adherence * Cost Consequences Analysis * Cost-Benefit Analysis * Cost-Effectiveness Analysis * Cost Utility Analysis * Patient Satisfaction * Patient Preferences * Psychometric Evaluation of Questionnaires (e.g. reliability, validity, etc.)

Purpose: The purpose of the ONS State-of-the-Science Lectureship is to facilitate the advancement of oncology nursing science through the synthesis of current research on a specific cancer care symptom, outcome, or issue. The awardee is expected to:

The intent of the PFCRA is to target the emerging need to provide extended trauma care prior to reaching a location that can provide definitive hemorrhage and contamination control. Trauma care during this period is often called "Prolonged Field Care" (PFC). Traditionally, improvements to the trauma care system have focused on shortening evacuation times from the point of injury to the first surgical site. However, in future conflicts or mass trauma events, it is anticipated that the initial evacuation time, and thus initial surgical hemorrhage and contamination control, may be delayed for hours or days.This challenge also requires research to develop new solutions to provide for prolonged Damage Control Resuscitation (pDCR) including: support for medical providers in the out-of-hospital setting (point of injury, austere environment, or en route care) with limited resources; understanding the physiologic impact of pDCR; and techniques to mitigate the negative effects of delayed surgical intervention. The research and solutions must be focused on patient-level interventions and outcomes, rather than the broader trauma system. However, proposed research and solutions should consider the entire continuum of trauma care.The JPC-6/CCCRP has identified three overarching Focus Areas for funding under this Program Announcement/Funding Opportunity.

The NIH Research Evaluation and Commercialization Hub (REACH) program is envisioned as a partnership program between NIH and the qualifying research institutions to accelerate the creation of small businesses and the transition of discoveries originating from academic research into products that improve health. REACH Hubs will foster the advancement of therapeutics, preventatives, diagnostics, devices, and tools in a manner consistent with business case development, that address the needs of patients and public health.

With the goal of improving patient care in hospitals, clinics, homes, and communities, the Rita and Alex Hillman Foundation supports nurse-led healthcare innovation and research. Drawing on our collective knowledge of the unique and important role played by nurses, the foundation believes it has valuable insights with respect to relevant modes of research and alternative models that can lead to more equitable patient-centered health care. To that end, the foundation welcomes applications for its Emergent Innovation Program, which seeks to accelerate the development of bold nursing-driven interventions targeting the needs of vulnerable populations. Through the program, grants of $50,000 will be awarded in support of early-stage (pre-evidence or untested) innovations that address health and healthcare problems in new ways.

The TBDRP's vision is to prevent the occurrence, better diagnose, and resolve or minimize the impact of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses, with emphasis on burden of disease. The TBDRP's mission is to support research to understand the pathogenesis of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses and to deliver innovative solutions to prevent, better diagnose, and treat their manifestations for the benefit of military Service members and the American public.

The PhRMA Foundation is accepting applications for its Health Outcomes program. Health outcomes research spans a broad spectrum of issues related to healthcare delivery, from studies evaluating the effectiveness of a pharmaceutical intervention to the impact of reimbursement policies on outcomes of care. It also ranges from the development of tools to perform patient-based assessments to analyses of the ways in which results of outcomes research are disseminated to providers or consumers to encourage behavior change.

The intent of the FY19 PRARP InCASA is to support innovative research that improves the quality of life and care for individuals living with the common symptoms of TBI and/or AD/ADRD and/or their families and care providers, as related to the PRARP's mission (see Section II.A, Program Description). The proposed work should innovatively challenge existing research paradigms or exhibit high levels of creativity within the contexts of the PRARP's mission and vision. This can include innovations and research for symptom reduction (e.g., cognitive, behavioral, function, mood), resiliency factors, increasing or maintaining independence, and support for families and care providers. The research innovations for the FY19 PRARP InCASA are expected to benefit the military, Veteran, and civilian communities. FY19 PRARP InCASA applications should be Innovation- and Impact-based.

Applications must articulate how results will lead to a clinical impact for Veterans with GWI even if a clinical impact is not an immediate outcome. All applications must focus on features of GWI and Veterans of the 1990-1991 Gulf War affected by GWI. It is the responsibility of the Principal Investigator (PI) to clearly and explicitly articulate the project's potential impact on GWI. The types of activities supported include, but are not limited to, expansion of limited data on candidate markers, mechanistic targets; therapeutics and interventions; validation and advanced research on druggable mechanistic targets, identification and development of leading compounds, and collection of preclinical data for repurposing an existing approved drug or for new Investigational New Drug (IND) application submissions to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
