NDP Production Grants provide funding to artists/companies to create new dance works and touring subsidies to the U.S. organizations who bring that work to their communities.

Administered by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, the USArtists International program supports performances by American artists at important cultural festivals and arts marketplaces around the globe. USAI encourages and promotes the vibrant diversity of American artists and creative expression in the performing arts by expanding opportunity and exposure to international audiences, encouraging international cultural exchange, and enhancing the creative and professional development of U.S. based artists by providing connections with presenters, curators, and artists around the world. Grants of up to $15,000 will be awarded to American dance, music, and theater ensembles and solo performers that have been invited to perform at international festivals and/or for performance engagements that represent extraordinary career opportunities anywhere in the world outside the U.S.

The NFA is a national grant program open to US-based Latino working artists, ensembles and Latino arts organizations that demonstrate artistic excellence in pursuit of social justice through the arts. To date, the NFA has awarded over one million dollars to a diverse range of artists and organizations representing every discipline and region of the country. Applying to the NFA is a benefit of NALAC Membership.

Summer Stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Recipients usually produce articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources. Summer Stipends support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two months. Summer Stipends support projects at any stage of development. Summer Stipends are awarded to individual scholars.

We propose the development of a skills building workshop series to promote empowerment and engagement, using civil society and community. This should focus on under-served communities, especially in second-tier Indian cities, using theater and performance techniques. No large scale performance is required at any venue, but small performances should be generated, recorded, and prepared for broadcast through a variety of media platforms as part of the workshop. The workshops will provide underserved local communities with techniques to build confidence, skills, increase a sense of community, and build linkages across communities and between peoples and institutions that normally do not interact. These linkages should include organizations in both India and the United States. Target audiences will be identified by U.S. Mission India, and may include underserved youth in second tier cities, e.g. Lucknow. Youth might come from the full range of economic backgrounds, from street kids to students in better local academic institutions. It is not required that the workshops take place in all five consular districts; instead, the U.S. Mission will work with the program partner, local theater partners, and with other appropriate institutions to identify the priority locations for this project. The project should use traditional media, Facebook and Twitter as amplifiers, and will use such means as DVC, Livestream, Google, etc., to broadcast events. We hope to foster a recognition among Indians that as their economic stature rises, the social and political inclusion of once marginalized groups will advance the interests that the U.S. and India have in common. 

We fund projects only. Projects may consist of one or more specific events or activities. Projects do not have to be new. Excellent existing projects can be just as competitive as new activities. Projects do not need to be big either; we welcome small projects that can make a difference in their community or field.

Art lifts our spirits and expands our horizons. Because art plays a vital role in a healthy community, expressing the diversity within our common humanity, the First Tennessee Foundation is a long-time supporter. One of our signature investments is ArtsFirst, a program to promote excellence and enrichment in the arts in Memphis. This new approach allows us to leverage the grant-making expertise of ArtsMemphis while ensuring we continue to make a significant impact in the community. The grant panel is composed of First Tennessee Foundation representatives.

As part of this mission, the foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit performing ensembles for general operating support or special project support. For the 2019 funding cycle, support will be given to projects that take place between September 2019 and August 2020. (The foundation will only consider projects that fall outside that window under extraordinary circumstances.) In general, grants will range between $1,000 and $7,500, although larger grants may be awarded to larger performing organizations with an extraordinary commitment to contemporary concert music or a particularly significant project. To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit amateur choral ensemble or youth choir performing contemporary classical music at an exceptionally high artistic level.

Founded in 1962, the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music is dedicated to promoting understanding of the life and works of composers Kurt Weill (1900-1950) and Marc Blitzstein (1905-1963) and preserving the legacies of Weill and his wife, actress-singer Lotte Lenya (1898-1981). The foundation awards grants to individuals and nonprofit organizations for performances of musical works by Weill and Blitzstein; for scholarly research pertaining to Weill, Lenya, Marc Blitzstein; and for relevant educational initiatives. To that end, the foundation is accepting applications for projects and performances taking place on or after January 1, 2019, and before July 1, 2020. Based on funding availability, the proposed grant will support two annual international women's film festivals featuring films from Afghanistan and around the world. To qualify for submission, films should address women's lives and the issues confronting them, or their producers or directors should be women. The proposed festivals will provide talented Afghan professionals in cinema with an opportunity to engage with their international counterparts, celebrate and elevate women's roles and representation in film, mobilize public opinion regarding violations of women's rights, and provide a platform for young filmmakers to share their stories of Afghanistan with an international audience. The festivals will provide an artistic platform for the presentation of work by and about women and will include panel discussions with actors and directors, workshops, and cultural performances. PAS intends to issue an award for a period of 24 months (base period) with an option for one additional 12-month period (option period one).

The U.S. Embassy to Zambia Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This is an Annual Program Statement, outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. Please carefully follow all instructions below. Project Objectives: We invite proposals for projects that strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and Zambia through cultural and exchange programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural element, or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives. The U.S. Embassy is expecting two jazz performers, one bluegrass band, and a dance choreographer between July and December 2018. Proposals involving these visits will be prioritized.

The Classics for Kids Foundation empowers young people to shape their futures through music, helps build sustainable stringed instrument music programs, and provides grants for the purchase of high-quality instruments. To that end, matching grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to schools or nonprofit organizations that incorporate fine instruments in their music programs. To be eligible, public or private schools and nonprofit organizations must demonstrate need and a commitment to raising matching funds. The Course Hero-Woodrow Wilson Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching will support rising stars in the academy who love teaching, demonstrate excellence as educators, and are making their mark as exceptional researchers, poised to shape their fields. Designed for young scholars working towards tenure, the Course Hero-WW Fellowship is a "genius grant" that will emphasize the balance between scholarly excellence and commitment to teaching practice that draws on new approaches to pedagogy, creating a new level of engagement for students in and beyond the classroom. In short, Fellows will be emerging heroes in their fields, on a clear trajectory to become great college educators. In its inaugural year, the Course Hero-WW Fellowship will identify five outstanding junior faculty members. Fellows will receive a one-year grant of $40,000-approximately $30,000 to support the engagement of a student assistant and the balance to be used for research and travel support. Exceptional candidates teach in ways that build student confidence and mastery of a subject; encourage critical thinking; explore foundational concepts through the lens of broader themes and global events; promote the power of learning communities beyond the classroom; leverage technology to complement the classroom experience; consider and serve different learning styles; prepare students for lifelong learning; and can serve as replicable teaching models for other educators. Selection takes place in June 2018. The five Fellows will be invited to attend the Course Hero Education Summit in July 2018, where their Fellowships will be announced.

The foundation currently is accepting applications for grants to support projects that encourage education about and the performance of women's barbershop vocal music. Grant amounts will be determined on a project-by-project basis.

California Documentary Project, a competitive grants program that supports documentary film, radio, and new media productions designed to enhance an understanding of California and its cultures, peoples, and histories. Projects must use the humanities to provide context, depth, and perspective and be suitable for California and national audiences through broadcast and/or distribution. CDP grants support projects at the research and development, production, and public engagement stages.

The Kurt Weill Foundation Grant Program awards financial support worldwide to not-for-profit organizations for performances of musical works by Kurt Weill and Marc Blitzstein, to individuals and not-for-profit organizations for scholarly research pertaining to Kurt Weill, Lotte Lenya, and Marc Blitzstein, and to not-for-profit organizations for relevant educational or scholarly initiatives.

USArtists International (USAI) is committed to ensuring that the impressive range of expression of the performing arts in the United States is represented abroad, and that the creative and professional development of American artists is enhanced through participation at significant international festivals.  Performances at important festivals provide American artists with opportunities for the exchange of ideas and practices with their colleagues in other countries, as well as exposure to new and larger audiences.  It is our hope that participation of exemplary artists from the United States in international festivals will help develop audiences for, and greater appreciation of, the excellence, diversity and vitality of the American performing arts. Through USAI, grants are available to American dance, music and theater ensembles and solo performers that have been invited to perform at significant international festivals anywhere in the world outside of the United States.  

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) Observership Program grants emerging Directors and Choreographers 25 paid opportunities to observe the work of master Directors and Choreographers as they create productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway and at leading regional theatres across the country.  SDCF Observers have access to the entire rehearsal process, from first rehearsal through previews to opening night.  Observers are guaranteed the invaluable opportunity to observe, first-hand, the techniques, disciplines, approaches and insights of master artists as they create new productions and revive classics.  The exact nature of each Observership varies depending on the needs and desires of the master Director or Choreographer.

The U.S. Embassy Islamabad Public Affairs Section (PAS) announces an Open Source RFP and invites organizations to submit a proposal supporting people-to-people ties between the people of the United States and Pakistan, specifically in the area of music. These activities should expand people-to-people relationships between non-officials (e.g. musicians, industry professionals) and increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of Pakistan through projects that build self-sustaining relationships between the U.S. and Pakistani musicians and music industries. Program Goals: 1. Strengthen People-to-People Ties between the U.S. and Pakistan: Increase mutual understanding through projects that share American music with Pakistani audiences. 2. Create Institutional Linkages Between the U.S. and Pakistani Music Industries: Encourage the local music industry to build long-term, self-sustaining relationships between U.S. and Pakistani musicians, music institutions, existing festivals and music schools. 3. Support Music/Creative Industry Growth: Provide Pakistani musicians with opportunities to network and discuss challenges facing Pakistan's music industry, engage in substantive dialogue with American music industry professionals, and increase cooperation on problems of mutual concern, such as intellectual property rights. 4. Strengthen Regional Cooperation between Afghanistan, Pakistan and India: Increase mutual understanding on a regional level by including Indian and Afghan musicians in music capacity-building projects. 5. Expand Music Outreach to Youth and Underserved Audiences: Though music programs, develop local partners that are able to access regions of Pakistan not easily accessed by U.S. officials and make American music available to the local youth audience.

The guiding principle of "Art Works" is at the center of everything we do at the NEA. "Art Works" refers to three things: the works of art themselves, the ways art works on audiences, and the fact that art is work for the artists and arts professionals who make up the field.To make "art work," the NEA has included the advancement of innovation as a core component of its mission as a way to ensure the vitality of the arts. We recognize that arts and design organizations are often in the forefront of innovation in their work and strongly encourage innovative projects which are characterized as those that: * Are likely to prove transformative with the potential for meaningful change, whether in the development or enhancement of new or existing art forms, new approaches to the creation or presentation of art, or new ways of engaging the public with art; * Are distinctive, offering fresh insights and new value for their fields and/or the public through unconventional solutions; and* Have the potential to be shared and/or emulated, or are likely to lead to other advances in the field. Through the projects that we support in the Art Works category, we want to achieve the following four outcomes:* Creation: The creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence,* Engagement: Public engagement with diverse and excellent art, * Learning: Lifelong learning in the arts, and * Livability: The strengthening of communities through the arts. - An organization may submit only one application through one of the following FY 2015 categories: Art Works or Challenge America Fast-Track.- The Arts Endowment's support of a project may start on or after January 1, 2015.
