    The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde, Cameroon announces an open competition for an assistance award through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). PAS Yaounde invites all eligible organizations to submit a proposal for a French-language television and radio entertainment drama series that addresses the issue of countering violent extremism among young people in contemporary Cameroonian society and highlights the power of civic engagement and peaceful community involvement to enact positive change and provide an alternative to violent extremism.

    The Office of English Language Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for proposals to advance the Bureau's objectives through support of academic exchanges that will result in the improvement of English teaching capacity around the world and the enhancement of mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through exchanges of U.S. English language educators to all regions of the world. The EL Fellow and Specialist Program builds bridges of mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through exchanges of U.S. English language educators. The EL Fellow and Specialist Program sends talented, highly qualified U.S. citizens in the area of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or a closely related field on approximately ten month Fellow exchanges or short-term (two-weeks or more) Specialist assignments at educational institutions in all regions of the world. Through U.S. embassy-designated projects, EL Fellows and Specialists share their expertise, build English teaching capacity abroad, hone their skills, and gain international experience. Upon returning to the United States, they share their experiences and acquired knowledge with their communities and professional colleagues. Projects are carried out with host country ministries of education, universities, teacher-training institutions, NGOs, binational centers, and other English language teaching institutions.

    ASHA's Advancing Academic-Research Careers Award is intended to support the academic research careers of junior-level faculty in the field of communication sciences and disorders. The program funds projects that include both a teaching and a research component. Recipients work in conjunction with mentors to develop mentored teaching and research plans tailored to the applicant's career stage. The plans - which should propose specific teaching and research activities to be completed under the guidance of the mentors during the eighteen-month funding period - are submitted as part of the AARC application. In support of ASHA's strategic objectives, applications that focus the mentored teaching and/or research component on clinical practice research, implementation science, and interprofessional education and interprofessional practice are particularly encouraged. In 2018, ASHA will award up to ten grants of $5,000 each. To be eligible, applicants must have a research doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent); a full-time tenure or non-tenure track faculty appointment in a CSD department in an academic institution in the United States at the time of disbursement; primary responsibilities that include teaching and research; and fewer than six years of teaching/research experience or status below the level of associate professor.

    The DePaul University Humanities Center (DHC) is inviting applications for Visiting Fellows for 2020-2021. All applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent, and research projects must be in the humanities. International applications will be considered. Fellowships may run for nine months (from September 2020 to June 2021) or six months (from January 2021 to June 2021). During their tenure, Visiting Fellows are required to make an intellectual contribution to the DePaul community and participate in the programming and activities of the DHC and the university. We are especially interested in applications that involve a project around the theme of "Age," broadly construed. All applications regardless of topic will be considered, but preference will be given to applicants who draw connections between their proposed project and the 2020-21 DHC theme, "Age." NB: The DHC will be hosting events that touch on such topics as the analog age and the era of cassette tapes; child liberation; birth & infancy; the juvenile justice system; the gendering of age; childhood, games, and gaming; and sexuality and privacy in the golden years. Ultimately, we are interested in interdisciplinary, creative, innovative projects that take up the theme of "Age."

    "The Public Humanities Projects program supports projects that bring the ideas and insights of the humanities to life for general audiences through in-person programming.  Projects must engage humanities scholarship to analyze significant themes in disciplines such as history, literature, ethics, and art history. Public Humanities Projects supports projects in three program categories (Exhibitions, Historic Places, and Humanities Discussions), and at two funding levels (Planning and Implementation). Regardless of proposed activity, NEH encourages applicants to explore humanities ideas through multiple formats.  Proposed projects may include complementary components: for example, a museum exhibition might be accompanied by a website or mobile app. Small and mid-sized organizations are especially encouraged to apply.  We likewise welcome humanities projects tailored to particular groups, such as families, youth (including K-12 students in informal educational settings), underserved communities, and veterans. Applicants are advised to consider developing partnerships with other institutions, particularly organizations such as cultural alliances, broadcast media stations, cultural heritage centers, state humanities councils, veterans' centers, and libraries."

The overarching goal of this R25 program is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation's biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs. To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on: The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of this NIDCD R25 program is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation's biomedical research needs, and to encourage individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from groups underrepresented in the biomedical and behavioral sciences, to pursue further studies or careers in auditory and vestibular research.
