USAID/Bangladesh intends to award a five-year assistance activity (up to $24.5 million) under the US Government's Feed the Future (FTF) initiative. This activity, the Feed the Future Bangladesh Aquaculture and Nutrition activity, will improve rural household income and nutrition by increasing aquaculture productivity, strengthening the aquaculture value chain, and improving the awareness and adoption of nutrition related behaviors of rural households. This five-year activity will be comprised of three interrelated components: Component 1: Productivity of Aquaculture Ponds, Component 2: Aquaculture Value Chain, and Component 3: Awareness and Adoption of Nutrition Related Behaviors.

The Cooperative Watershed Management Program (CWMP) contributes to the WaterSMART strategy by providing funding to watershed groups to encourage diverse stakeholders to form local solutions to address their water management needs. Funding is provided on a competitive basis for: Watershed Group Development and Watershed Restoration Planning: In 2012, Reclamation began providing funding for watershed group development, watershed restoration planning, and watershed management project design (Phase I). A watershed group is a self-sustaining, non-regulatory, consensus-based group that is composed of a diverse array of stakeholders, which may include, but is not limited to, private property owners, non-profit organizations, Federal, state, or local agencies, and tribes. As part of Phase I activities, applicants may use funding to develop bylaws, a mission statement, complete stakeholder outreach, develop a watershed restoration plan, and watershed management project design. For Phase I projects, Reclamation will award a successful applicant up to $50,000 per year for a period of up to two years with no non-Federal cost-share required.

wenty $2,500 grants will be awarded to schools or nonprofit organizations for projects that use innovation, nature-based design, or technology to address environmental problems in their communities. Ideal projects integrate environmental education with opportunities for children to solve real-world problems by using science practices and technology to help care for the environment. Projects may replicate successful models or create new and innovative approaches. Preference will be given to applicants who have secured $2,500 in matching funds or in-kind contributions. In addition, priority will be given to student-directed projects that provide materials that will make the project easy to replicate, including lesson plans, protocols, videos, adaptations, and examples of student work.

Through the program, general support grants of up to $7,000 as well as funding for specific projects will be awarded to nonprofits working in one or more of the foundation's five focus areas - promoting Earth's beauty and bounty; creating a robust, healthy food system; increasing opportunities for outdoor activity; reducing environmental health hazards; and building stronger communities. Preference will be given to organizations that can demonstrate a clearly defined objective and a viable plan to achieve it, and that operate at the community level and have strong community ties. Organizations also must promote positive change through both their project and the implementation process.

The Miami Initiative for Advancing, Mentoring and Investing in Women (M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN) awarded nearly $104,000 in Giving Circle grants to students and faculty during the annual Leadership Symposium on April 12, 2018. Finalists pitched their projects the previous evening at the inaugural Hawk Tank event. This grant fund is open again for the 2018-2019 cycle.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) through the Marine Minerals Program (MMP) is offering a cooperative agreement opportunity to conduct research to serve the public interest in offshore sand resources, coastal restoration, coastal resiliency, and to meet the MMP and Gulf States¿ goal of a Gulf-wide Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) sediment inventory. The overall goal of this cooperative agreement is to work with Gulf States to recover legacy geological and geophysical data that will ultimately provide for development of an offshore sediment resources inventory. One of the primary objectives is to coordinate with all 5 Gulf States and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management to develop a Gulf-Wide Sediment Inventory program for funding under a future opportunity such as the RESTORE Act Funded Priorities List. This funding is available to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). This is not an open solicitation for proposals. The OCSLA (43 USC 1345)authorizes the use of cooperative agreements with affected States to meet the requirements of OCSLA, including sharing of information, joint utilization of available expertise, formation of joint monitoring arrangements to carry out applicable Federal and State laws, regulations, and stipulations relevant to outer continental shelf operations both onshore and offshore. All awards are premised on receipt of an acceptable proposal.

The results aim to influence policy makers in these regions, and will inform ongoing U.S. programs and the design and implementation of future interventions to assist developing countries in combating illegal logging and associated trade (ILAT). The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is announcing a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NFO) for the availability of cooperative agreements to expedite conservation plan development and conservation practice implementation in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. NRCS will provide technical assistance awards to entities that possess staff who can develop conservation plans, implement conservation practices and enhancements, or provide specified training in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The expectation is that staff will be ready to deliver services immediately upon entering into an agreement with NRCS. Entities can apply that have one or more employees who are licensed engineers, soil conservation or civil engineering technicians with advanced engineering job approval authority, or conservation planners who are certified or will be certified in less than one year by NRCS. Proposals will be accepted for projects located within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed in the following states: Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania. NRCS anticipates that the available funding will be:

WIIN addresses, supports and improves America's drinking water infrastructure.  Included in the WIIN Act are three new drinking water grants that promote public health and the protection of the environment.  As part of the grant, the EPA will award approximately $1.2 million for fiscal year 2018 to support lead testing in drinking water at tribal schools and child care facilities.

The NOAA Marine Debris Program (MDP), authorized in the Marine Debris Act (33 U.S.C. 1951-1958), provides funding to support eligible organizations to conduct research directly related to marine debris through field, laboratory, and modeling experiments. The MDP invites applications for research funding in any of three areas of focus: research that explores the ecological risk associated with marine debris and determines debris exposure levels; research that examines the fate and transport of marine debris; and/or research that quantifies habitat impacts resulting from marine debris and the gains in ecosystem services that result when debris is removed. Projects may address one or more of these research priorities and should be original, hypothesis-driven projects that have not previously been addressed to scientific standards. Successful proposals through this solicitation will be funded through cooperative agreements. Funding of up to $1,500,000 is expected to be available for Marine Debris Research grants in Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19). Typical awards will range from $150,000 - $250,000. Funding for this grant competition comes through the NOAA Marine Debris Program as appropriations to the Office of Response and Restoration, National Ocean Service.

The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund was established to provide targeted grants to individual species conservation initiatives, recognize leaders in the field, and elevate the importance of species in the broader conservation debate. To that end, the fund will award grants of up to $25,000 in support of plant, animal, and fungi species conservation efforts without discrimination on the basis of region or selected species. Priority will be given to in situ species conservation work, but the fund will consider an ex situ project where it is demonstrated to be critical to the survival of the species concerned.

Launched in 2008 as a partnership between Covanta, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Marine Debris Program, Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc., and NFWF, the program seeks to provide a cost-free solution that allows fishermen to dispose of old, derelict, or unusable fishing gear, with the goal of reducing the amount of gear that ends up in and around  costal waterways. Under this RFP, grants will be awarded to programs that target U.S. coastal waters, with priority given or areas that have been identified for derelict fishing gear prevention, reduction, and gear technology innovation in state or regional plans, or as part of species or habitat conservation plans. Priority locations include areas of the Gulf of Maine that have been identified as priority habitat for North Atlantic right whales; the Chesapeake Bay, with a focus on blue crab habitat;  the Puget Sound, with a focus on killer whale and Chinook salmon habitat; and within the borders of the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument in Hawaii.

Agency Overview: The Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E), an organization within the Department of Energy (DOE), is chartered by Congress in the America COMPETES Act of 2007 (P.L. 110-69), as amended by the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2010 (P.L. 111-358) to: "(A) to enhance the economic and energy security of the United States through the development of energy technologies that result in- (i) reductions of imports of energy from foreign sources; (ii) reductions of energy-related emissions, including greenhouse gases; and (iii) improvement in the energy efficiency of all economic sectors; and (B) to ensure that the United States maintains a technological lead in developing and deploying advanced energy technologies." ARPA-E issues this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) under the programmatic authorizing statute codified at 42 U.S.C. § 16538. The FOA and any awards made under this FOA are subject to 2 C.F.R. Part 200 as amended by 2 C.F.R. Part 910. ARPA-E funds research on and the development of high-potential, high-impact energy technologies that are too early for private-sector investment. The agency focuses on technologies that can be meaningfully advanced with a modest investment over a defined period of time in order to catalyze the translation from scientific discovery to early-stage technology.

The Honeybee Conservancy is inviting applications for in-kind grants to help organizations or schools safely set up, maintain, and observe on-site bee sanctuaries at schools, community gardens, and green spaces across the United States. Through its Sponsor-A-Hive program, the conservancy will award grants in the form of honey or solitary bees, their homes, beekeeping equipment, and information on how to care for the bees. With the assistance of the conservancy, bees are placed strategically in locations where they can bolster local bee populations, advance science and environmental education, and pollinate locally grown food. The conservancy will also provide a Sponsor-A-Hive Teacher's Kit, which includes lesson plans and worksheets designed to teach students more about their bee home and build their reading and science skills, raise their environmental awareness, and empower them to help the bees. To be eligible, applicants must be located in the United States and be a nonprofit organization; elementary, middle, or high school; college or university; tribal education agency; environmental center; or a food bank or community garden that does not charge a membership fee. In addition, applicant organizations must have been in existence for at least a year to be eligible to receive materials.

The National Park Service's (NPS) FY 2017 African American Civil Rights Grant Program (AACR) will document, interpret, and preserve the sites related to the African American struggle to gain equal rights as citizens in the 20th Century. The NPS 2008 report, "Civil Rights in America, A Framework for Identifying Significant Sites," will serve as the reference document in determining the appropriateness of proposed projects and properties. AACR Grants are funded by the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF), administered by the NPS. Grants will fund a broad range of planning and research projects for historic sites including: survey, inventory, documentation, interpretation, and education. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Midwest Region, intends to issue a Single Source Cooperative Agreement Award without competition to the Midwest Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (MAFWA) to support a coordinating Position (State Monarch Conservation Liaison) for monarch butterfly planning and conservation primarily occurring across the MAFWA region (thirteen states and three Canadian provinces). In conjunction with its Species Status Assessment process, the Service has recently identified monarch butterfly conservation units for the U.S., including both North Core and South Core Conservation Units for the eastern monarch population. This is a new focus on those priority conservation areas and includes the need for a coordinated and expanded approach to regional monarch conservation planning and implementation in those identified priority units.
