  •
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support research projects designed to solve specific problems and paradoxes in cancer research identified by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Provocative Questions Initiative. These problems and paradoxes phrased as questions are not intended to represent the full range of NCI's priorities in cancer research. Rather, they are meant to challenge researchers to think about and elucidate specific problems in key areas of cancer research that are deemed important but have not received sufficient attention. Request for Proposals - Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation - 0 views

  •
In November 2018, the Moore Foundation announced its Diagnostic Excellence Initiative with a focus on diagnostic performance improvement. The initiative aims to reduce harm from erroneous or delayed diagnoses, reduce costs and redundancy in the diagnostic process, improve health outcomes and save lives. The initiative's first area of focus is to develop and validate new measures for diagnostic performance. Examples of our first cohort of grants for diagnostic clinical quality measures are now available for review. Starting with measure development is important - currently, U.S. health care systems are unable to systemically measure diagnostic performance in real time, which limits the ability to quantify performance and guide improvements.

RFA-CA-20-042: 3D Technologies to Accelerate HTAN Atlas Building Efforts (UH2 Clinical ... - 0 views

  •
Through this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a part of its Beau Biden Cancer Moonshot Initiative invites submission of applications requesting support for projects that will accelerate cancer research. Specifically, this FOA targets the following area designated as a scientific priority by the Blue Ribbon Panel (BRP) as Recommendation I: Generation of Human Tumor Atlases. The overarching goal of this FOA is to accelerate research efforts conducted and led by the Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN, humantumoratlas.org) via the implementation of three-dimensional (3D) imaging technologies that will allow for a comprehensive view of the dynamic multidimensional ecosystems that define tumors in humans. Each project will lead to the multiplexed 3D characterization of at least one cancer transition investigated by the HTAN (pre-malignant to malignant, primary to metastatic, therapy responsive to resistant). The data and analytical tools generated through this FOA will be made available for use by the research and clinical communities through the activities of the HTAN Data Coordinating Center.

  •
PCORI seeks to fund pragmatic clinical trials, large simple trials, or large-scale observational studies that compare two or more alternatives for addressing prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or management of a disease or symptom; improving healthcare system-level approaches to managing care; communicating or disseminating research results to patients, caregivers, or clinicians; or eliminating health or healthcare disparities. Proposed studies must address critical clinical choices faced by patients, their caregivers, clinicians, or delivery systems. They must involve broadly representative patient populations and be large enough to provide precise estimates of hypothesized effectiveness differences and to support evaluation of potential differences in treatment effectiveness in patient subgroups.
