Based on funding availability, this program will provide access to the performing arts for young audiences in order to share Afghanistan's rich cultural heritage with young audiences, inform youth of their legal rights, teach lessons of tolerance, and amplify the voices of marginalized groups. The program will fund two to three organizations that are committed to reviving the performing arts in Afghanistan's public and/or private schools through interactive performances and participatory discussions that will take place in schools in Kabul and at least four other provinces. The target audience will be children under 16. Periodic focus groups with small numbers of attendees will determine how key messages are being perceived and assimilated in order to inform recipients how to continually improve the program.

Funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and administered by Creative Capital, the Arts Writers Grant Program was launched in 2006 to support emerging and established writers who engage with issues of contemporary visual art. Through the program, published authors who identify as art historians, artists, critics, curators, or journalists, or who are writers in an outside field and are strongly engaged with the contemporary visual arts, can apply for grants ranging between $15,000 and $50,000. Grants will be awarded in four categories: articles, blogs, books, and short-form writing.

itled How Art Works, the report offers a framework for studying research topics critical to a broader public understanding of the arts' value and/or impact for individuals and communities. In December 2016, the NEA's research office updated its five-year agenda for 2017-2021, which reflects a tighter focus on Arts Participation and Arts/Cultural Assets as essential research topics. Arts Participation, in the new agenda, remains inclusive of various modes of participation and specific arts activities. These modes are: attending arts events; reading literature; creating or performing art; consuming art via electronic media; and learning in the arts. Arts/Cultural Assets denotes artists and arts workers, arts venues and platforms, and arts organizations and industries. The NEA is interested in research seeking to identify and to examine: * Factors that enhance or inhibit Arts Participation or Arts/Cultural Assets; * Detailed characteristics of Arts Participation or Arts Cultural/Assets, and their interrelationships; * Individual-level outcomes of Arts Participation, including those corresponding with the following domains: o social and emotional well-being o creativity, cognition, and learning o physiological processes of health and healing; and * Societal or community-level outcomes, including those corresponding with the following domains: o civic and corporate innovation o attraction for neighborhoods and businesses o national and/or state-level economic growth

The $20,000 ABOG fellowship supports socially engaged projects that promote art as a catalyst for social change; projects that feature artists in leadership roles; dialogue-based projects that emphasize active and sustainable partnerships with communities; and projects in which artists engage community members as equal partners on locally relevant issues, or globally relevant issues as they apply to the local context. Projects in which co-creation with non-artists is part of the process are highly encouraged.

Through the program, ten fellowships of $36,000 (with an additional $4,000 in the form of a travel and research allowance) will be awarded to graduate students at any stage of PhD dissertation research or writing who are exploring topics in the history of the visual arts of the United States. The fellowships are portable and may be carried out in residence at the fellow's home institution or at another appropriate site. Projects should be focused foremost on the art object and/or image and employ an art-historical or visual studies approach. Although the topic may be historically and/or theoretically grounded, proposals whose emphases are predominantly socio-historical will not be considered. Students with appropriate projects whose degrees will be granted by departments other than art history are eligible only if the principal dissertation advisor is in a department of art history. Students preparing theses for the Master of Fine Arts degree are not eligible.

The Center for Craft, Creativity, & Design Artist Fellowship is one of four hubs that make up the Craft Research Fund, which was created to encourage, expand, and support scholarly craft research in the United States To advance this mission, the center is inviting applications for its Artist Fellows program. Through the program, two grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded to advance, expand, and support the creation of new research and knowledge through craft practice. Proposals are welcome from mid-career artists, artisans, designers, makers, sculptors, and others who identify their practice within the field of craft. The center, and by extension this grant, recognizes craft to be a particular approach to making with a strong connection to materials, skill, and process. Examples of craft research identified by the center include but are not limited to archive and museum-based research; material innovations and experimentation; process-oriented research/innovation; historical research; collaborations among artists and/or with other disciplines and/or institutions; and other projects that have the potential to transform questions that are being asked in an academic context. To be eligible, applicants must be 21 or older, eligible to receive taxable income in the United States, and have been living and working in the U.S. for the last two years and for the duration of the fellowship period. Lighthouse Works is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization devoted to encouraging the development of artists and the enrichment of the year-round cultural and economic vitality of Fishers Island, New York. To that end, the organization has issued an open call for applications for its spring 2020 fellowship program sessions. Fellowships are six weeks in length and provide fellows with housing, food, studio space, a $250 travel allowance, and a $1,500 stipend. The fellows live together in a farmhouse dating from the late 1800s with a small vegetable garden in the front. Each fellow has a private bedroom and access to a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living space. In addition, Lighthouse Works maintains a wood and metal shop, a Paragon kiln, a black-and-white darkroom, and a letterpress print shop, all of which are available to fellows. While in residence, fellows' primary obligation is the solitary pursuit of their work, though every fellow is asked to participate in an artist talk on the first weekend of the fellowship and to open their studio for an afternoon at the session's conclusion.

To that end, the organization welcomes applications to its 2020 African American Arts Grants program. According to ArtsWave, diversity in arts and cultural expressions creates a more inclusive and dynamic region, a belief aligned with the Blueprint for Collective Action's goals of deepening the roots of residents and bridging cultural divides through the arts. The ArtsWave Grants for African American Arts program seek to strengthen the capacity for arts presenting, producing, programming, and instruction at organizations led by or predominantly serving black residents of Cincinnati and is one way that ArtsWave is working to increase the sustainability of organizations focused on the preservation and advancement of black arts and culture. The program will support organizations with a mission related to the African American experience and a majority (51 percent or more) of annual expenditures dedicated to arts and cultural activities. Grant requests may not exceed $25,000, and most award amounts will range between $5,000 and $10,000.

The Lighthouse Works' Fellowship is an artist-in-residence program that strives to support artists and writers working in the vanguard of their creative fields. We are proud to have supported these artists, writers, and composers with the time and space to focus on their creative work.   The program accepts artists working in a wide range of disciplines, but we are best able to accommodate visual artists and writers. Fellowships are six weeks in length, occur year round and provide fellows with housing, food, studio space, a $250 travel allowance and a $1,500 stipend. Artistic excellence is the primary criteria for acceptance as a Lighthouse Works fellow.

Our Town is the National Endowment for the Arts' creative placemaking grants program. Through project-based funding, we support projects that integrate arts, culture, and design activities into efforts that strengthen communities by advancing local economic, physical, and/or social outcomes. Successful Our Town projects ultimately lay the groundwork for systemic changes that sustain the integration of arts, culture, and design into local strategies for strengthening communities. These projects require a partnership between a local government entity and nonprofit organization, one of which must be a cultural organization; and should engage in partnership with other sectors (such as agriculture and food, economic development, education and youth, environment and energy, health, housing, public safety, transportation, and workforce development). Cost share/matching grants range from $25,000 to $150,000, with a minimum cost share/match equal to the grant amount.

The Burke Prize is a contemporary art prize for a new generation of artists working in a world of expanded media with a foundation in glass, fiber, clay, metal, or wood. Selected by a diverse and distinguished jury of curators, artists, and scholars through an open-call application process, the Burke Prize winner receives an unrestricted award of $50,000 and a major exhibition with a select group of finalists at the Museum.

Program Description: In recent years, the National Endowment for the Arts' research agenda has focused on yielding new knowledge about the value and impact of the arts. Through the National Endowment for the Arts Research Labs (NEA Research Labs), we seek to extend this agenda and its impact by cultivating a series of transdisciplinary research partnerships, grounded in the social and behavioral sciences, to produce and report empirical insights about the arts for the benefit of arts and non-arts sectors alike. Each NEA Research Lab will define its own research agenda, conduct a research program to implement that agenda, and prepare reports that will contribute substantively to a wider understanding of one of three areas of special interest to the National Endowment for the Arts: 1. The Arts, Health, and Social/Emotional Well-Being a. Therapeutic Approaches and Benefits b. Non-Therapeutic Approaches and Benefits 2. The Arts, Creativity, Cognition, and Learning 3. The Arts, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation We anticipate that a sustained engagement with these topic areas, and with the corresponding research questions we frame below, will have distinctive benefits not only for the arts community, but also for sectors such as healthcare, education, and business or management.

Each fellowship includes a monthly stipend, housing, studio space, a supplies allowance, and travel reimbursement to and from SAR. The fellowships are intended to provide artists with the time needed to explore new avenues of creativity, grapple with new ideas that can advance their work, and strengthen their existing talents.

The Cooperative Agreement will begin no earlier than June 1, 2020, and may extend for up to 24 months. Program Description: More than 500,000 members of the United States armed services live with traumatic brain injuries and related psychological health conditions. The Creative Forces: NEA Military Healing Arts Network (Creative Forces)-a program of the National Endowment for the Arts (Arts Endowment) in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Defense (DoD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) and state and local arts agencies-places creative arts therapies at the core of patient-centered care for the military patients and veterans who are affected by these conditions, as well as their caregivers and families. Since it was established in 2012, Creative Forces has reached more than 7,000 service members and currently treats approximately 3,500 new patients annually at 11 military and veterans facilities. Up to six additional facilities, for a new total of 17, are expected to join the Creative Forces network by the end of 2020.

The Arts Endowment's support of a project may start on July 1, 2020, or any time thereafter. A grant period of up to two years is allowed. An organization may submit as a lead applicant two applications to Our Town. A partnering organization may serve as a partner on as many applications as they like. You may apply to other National Endowment for the Arts funding opportunities, including Art Works and Challenge America, in addition to Our Town. In each case, the request must be for a distinctly different project, or a distinctly different phase of a project. If you have applied to the NEA in the past and were not recommended for funding, you may apply again to any funding opportunity, including Our Town. For organizations, our priorities are to: Assist with the production and presentation of significant programs about architecture and the designed environment in order to promote dialogue, raise awareness, and develop new and wider audiences. Support them in their effort to take risks in programming and create opportunities for experimentation. Recognize the vital role they play in providing individuals with a public forum in which to present their work. Help them to realize projects that would otherwise not be possible without our support.

Bemis offers artists-in-residence unmatched technical guidance, access to interns, and an established network of resources. Participants have the opportunity to create networks, collaborate, and share their work with fellow artists-in-residence, organizational partners, and the public. The Bemis Alumni Program extends artist support beyond their Bemis residency through Alumni Residencies, an annual Alumni Award, and Alumni Convenings.  STUDIOS AND FACILITIES Located in downtown Omaha's historic Old Market, Bemis Center's campus accommodates a broad range of artistic activity. Selected artists-in-residence enjoy generous sized, private live/work studios complete with a kitchen and bathroom and have 24-hour access to expansive installation and production spaces within Bemis Center's 110,000 square foot main facility and the Okada Sculpture & Ceramics Facility, a 9,000 square foot large-scale sculpture fabrication space and workshop. A Bemis residency also includes complimentary laundry facilities, utilities, wifi, and access to an on-site research library. STIPENDS U.S.-based artists-in-residence receive a $1,000 USD monthly stipend and an additional $750 USD travel stipend. Due to the limitations of B2 visas (touring/visiting), international artists-in-residence are eligible to receive reimbursement of qualified expenses, such as airfare, ground transportation, and meals. Bemis Center is not responsible for organizing artist's travel to Omaha to attend the residency. Additional stipends for studio supplies or materials are not available.

Guggenheim Fellowships are grants to selected individuals made for a minimum of six months and a maximum of twelve months. Since the purpose of the Guggenheim Fellowship program is to help provide Fellows with blocks of time in which they can work with as much creative freedom as possible, grants are made freely. No special conditions attach to them, and Fellows may spend their grant funds in any manner they deem necessary to their work. The application for the 2021 United States and Canada competition is now available. All applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or Canada at the time of application. The application deadline is Thursday, September 17, 2020.
