MiamiOH OARS on 23 Mar 20The program aims to support hit-to-lead optimization through investigational new drug (IND)-enabling studies. To that end, grants of $600,000 over two years will be awarded in support of proposals with the potential to advance discovery into meaningful therapeutics to treat, prevent, or slow Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. Funding priorities identified by ADDF include drug targets related to proteostatis (autophagy, lysosomal biogenesis, proteasomal degradation, post-translational modifications associated with proteostasis, protein folding/misfolding, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and extracellular clearance) and neurovascular health (blood brain barrier function and integrity, cerebral hypoperfusion, nutrient supply to the brain, and endothelial interaction with pericytes and astrocytes).
