Ideas for endothermic reactions- no activities, but chemical reactions we can use before students design their devices to absorb thermal energy.

Use a two liter, three pencils, vinegar, baking soda, a paper towel, and a cork to build this rocket.  Pretty simple!  This experiment easily goes along with Newton's Laws, scientific inquiry, or chemical reactions.

This is a video that shows the experiment with elephant toothpaste in a more dramatic event then we get in class. (So, I show it after the lab.)
