The Center for Digital Storytelling (CDS) is an international non-profit training, project development, and research organization dedicated to assisting people in using digital media to tell meaningful stories from their lives. Our focus is on building partnerships with community, educational, and business institutions to develop large-scale initiatives in health, social services, education, historic and cultural preservation, community development, human rights, and environmental justice arenas, using methods and principles adapted from our original Digital Storytelling Workshop.

For this list, we've compiled a set of open source security tools and their commercial counterparts. We're not suggesting that the open source apps have all the same features and use the same methods as the commercial products they can replace. Instead, we're saying that they provide end users with some of the same benefits and deserve consideration, particularly as businesses small and large look for ways to stretch their budgets.

Mail Merge helps you send personalized letters or email messages to a large group of people with little effort. The basic content of all these messages is similar but each will have information that is specific to the recipient (like their first name and salutation).
