The Digital Citizenship and Creative Content program was developed to create awareness of intellectual property rights and foster a better understanding of the rights connected with creative content. Four units comprise the curriculum resources. Each unit consists of standalone yet complementary lesson plans that play off a creative rights scenario presented through a case study.

In the spring of 2010, I decided to introduce Evernote as a research tool to a group of 10th grade Literature/Composition students at my school. I chose Evernote because these students (part of a learning and technology integration program), were preparing to start a research project using multiple sources of information, including database articles, web-based news stories, videos, photos, and interviews. For their research, students were not only using a wide range of information sources, but they were also creating multigenre learning artifacts, such as VoiceThreads, artwork, videos, poetry, and other representations of their key learnings.

I just love this!!! Search by color!! imagine creating an Animoto that used all warm/cold images or blues to link into poetry on the same theme. Very cool. :)

Have used two of these and they are pretty damn useful. Grade 5-6 you will be into these next year. Anyone tried Stupeflix or One true let me know.

Wetoku is a web service or web 2.0 tool out of Korea that does one thing very well…it provides a simple platform for interviewing someone via the Internet. Collaborating globally is a must for our students and as result interviewing can be a challenge. Wetoku makes doing an interview as easy as filling out some basic information, creating an interview session and then sending the creative interview session's URL to the interviewee. Very Cool!

As I reflect on the various free social and web 2.0 education tools that I come across on a daily basis, there is one product that is always in the forefront of my mind. That product is glogster.edu, a site in which students (and teachers and administrators too!) can create online multimedia posters (called "glogs"). Using the term "online multimedia poster" doesn't even begin to describe the transforming power this product has for students and teachers though. There are many benefits of using Glogster for education.
