Apple announced a new iBooks Author App on Thursday that makes creating an Apple ebook a drag-and-drop process.
Using the app, which was announced at the same time as a new textbook experience for iPad, users can drag a Word file into a book creation space. The app automatically determines the best way to lay out the book and creates appropriate sections and headers. Users can then drag and resize images within the text and add definitions, photo galleries, movies Keynote presentations and 3D objects.

"Isn't it great when students write and read because they love to? Or, when a child or young adult values his or her library card as much as the latest electronic game? At Pine Tree Poetry, we believe fine writing nourishes everyone's soul. It exercises brains with creative thinking and adds a palette of words and colors to life.
We've created Pine Tree Poetry to interlace students, their peers, parents, teachers and school librarians in a quest for poetry writing excellence. Rarely do students earn kudos or trophies for their writing, but at Pine Tree Poetry, we are dedicated to rewarding the fine writing achievements of students who are 5 - 18."
Fun4TheBrain is a great interactive and educational site for children. It contains a variety of math, reading and science games. The reading games are perfect for reviewing parts of speech and learning sight words and vocabulary. Some of the reading games are also available in hard copy to help teach children to read by giving them a stress-free and fun approach to learning. Math games cover a range of topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
