Finding Heaven: For the Bereaved - 0 views

Jen, I had a very close relationship with my maternal grandmother and still miss her a ton, even though it's been 13 years since she passed away. What a blessing to read your insightful post and see you give "permission" to your friend to grieve and not be okay. Sometimes I think we try to gloss over loss, instead of really feeling it. It makes us uncomfortable when people grieve...so thanks for this. I look forward to reading more of your work in the HCB network. :)

Oh. how I agree with this: "That he welcomes me into his family, despite such flaws, should give hope to us all." Thanks for sharing this glimpse into your life, and welcome to High Calling Blogs. I will be looking forward to reading about your unusual life and what you glean from it spiritually… Oh, and don't worry too much about little ones sucking their thumbs. I think we try to make kids grow up too fast sometimes. Reply

I love the creative way you reminded me that we're not finished yet. And that I shouldn't give up when I mess up. PTL for grace! Welcome to HCB. I hope you'll find it as warm and inspiring as I have.

"What a great post! :)I know what you mean about the tension between giving and providing for a family/kids/retirement. God keeps reminding me lately that He's my provider--not my employer, my husband, or other entities. I'm really glad you've joined our network at The High Calling. I hope you'll find it encouraging, challenging, and warm. Welcome aboard! "

I love this: "We don't have to wait for spring to see the hope of the daffodil. He gives it to us daily - a golden scepter extended to us of hope, grace, love, mercy and acceptance." Such a great reminder! Thanks for sharing your blog with us at The High Calling. We pray that we're an encouragement to you and can be a safe place for you to share your thoughts and posts. :)

And leave one with your neighbor, so she can watch the house while you're away. But remember to give her the new key from when the locksmith changed the keys recently, so that when you forget to turn off your straightening iron, she can check it for you. Yes, that would have saved some stress this morning. :) By the way, welcome to The High Calling!

Carmen, you give great advice. My hubby and kids and I had to break the "eating out too much" habit a few years ago and it's one of the best things we ever did. I'm so glad you've joined The High Calling blogs network, too. :) I'm one of the welcome editors and look forward to getting to know you as you have time to participate.
