Panoramic, 3D Interactive Tour of the Hagia Sophia « Indiana Jen - 0 views

  • The Hagia Sophia (in Greek Ἁγία Σοφία) is one of the most famous churches in all of Christendom. Prior to the building of Saint Peters in Rome, it was the Christian church. The current iteration built by the Emperor Justinian in the 7th century served as the center for Christendom until its fall to the Muslim Turks in the 15th century. For 500 years, it served as a mosque until Atatürk turned it into a state museum. The Hagia Sophia  is one of the greatest landmarks in history and merits an extensive visit. In fact, I spent 24 hours on a train from Romania to Istanbul just for the opportunity to walk through its halls and visit its famed dome. However, travel is a bit extensive. Here is an exceptional 3D, interactive tour of the Hagia Sophia. Don’t worry about the Greek on the website (unless you happen to know modern Greek). The information in the tour itself is actually english. You can pan, zoom, turn, examine close-ups, etc. It takes a minute to load, so be patient! How to Use Twitter (and Why It's Not a Waste of Time) « Indiana Jen - 0 views

  • Oh Twitter… How misunderstood you are. You are the semi-colon of social media – people have an idea of your existence but many have not fully grasped your usefulness and beauty. I love twitter and find it immensely valuable for a myriad of reasons: yes, it can be a time waster, however, it can also be a news source, a way to gauge public sentiment, and even a research tool.

How to Take Advantage of Google+ Messaging | GeekBeat.TV - 0 views

  • I’ve been using Google+ since about day 2 of the limited field trial and in that time I’ve noticed that most people, even many of the geeky tech-oriented people, don’t quite get the finer points of messaging yet. It’s time to correct that.

21 Free Motivational & Inspirational Videos Clips That'll Warm Your Heart at Goal Setti... - 0 views

  •
"Whenever friends or family forward those jokes emails or motivational videos clips, the first thing I'll do is to delete them. Pardon me, but I seldom see any true value in those emails to really justify the few minutes reading or watching them. But a few days ago, something made me watch a motivational videos clip. It was sent by my sister. And I was glad I did that. It was so heart wrenching and yet motivational that for the first time I realize there can be gems in such emails! I cried. And I just couldn't stop. Because of that, I've decided to compile a list of all the wonderful motivational videos clips that I can find and hope they'll inspire you just like how they've motivated me. Live your life to the fullest pursuing your dreams. Regardless of whatever odds you may face. And be absolutely grateful for everything around you. Be it your friends, family, classmates or even your neighbours."

Why teach search? Google understands the importance of finding the right information at the right time. We create tools to let you find the information you need, of the kind you need, when you need it. In most cases, a simple search works really well. But for more specialized questions, a bit of instruction in how to search improves all searcher--from middle school students to trained professionals--and lets you discover and use more, higher quality sources than ever before.

Revisiting Extra Credit Policies | Faculty Focus - 0 views

  •
"Here's how it works. The instructor attaches a blank piece of paper to the back of every exam. Students may write on that sheet any exam questions they couldn't answer or weren't sure they answered correctly. Students then take this piece of paper with them and look up the correct answers. They can use any resource at their disposal short of asking the instructor. At the start of the next class session, they turn in their set of corrected answers which the instructor re-attaches to their original exam. Both sets of answers are graded. If students missed the question on the exam but answered it correctly on the attached sheet, half the credit lost for the wrong answer is recovered."
