In my search for good audio tools, I found UJAM, a free tool for recording your voice, creating a song, converting your voice to an instrument...you name it. You can see a beta walk through on YouTube, but basically, you sign up, record into your computer's microphone, and make a few manipulations--presto, a song. You can edit chords, the song melody, add instruments, etc. Or you can turn your voice into an instrument! This might be a good tool for musicians, music teachers, and certainly for budding rock stars! Maybe it would be good for unique exercise in a poetry class...the spoken word as song.

If you haven't seen this, it is a safer place to post educational videos you make for class. It is also a great place to search for related media to use in class. You can set up an account so that only certain people can see your videos if you want.

While you have to search through the content, you get insights into what works for students and what doesn't (e.g. "their website is often down for "improvements"")

Of the three new bookmarks I found I though this one related to last weeks technology tools stats related to various generations online.

This is a wonderful, cutting edge tool on the web for using the power of Mathematica to computer along with the endless databases of facts and figures that can be found on the internet at large. It can be a great resource for students, but it could also be something they use to cheat in certain situations so be aware. "Wolfram|Alpha is more than a search engine. It gives you access to the world's facts and data and calculates answers across a range of topics, including science, nutrition, history, geography, engineering, mathematics, linguistics, sports, finance, music..."

Consider going straight to Google itself and see what technology tools appear in their list of apps. Much easier than searching for your own. Since many businesses and organizations also use Google Mail as their internal communication platform, the now mainstream acceptance means the apps are likely fairly robust and worth a try.

The image used in this post is of a small group of students sitting in a room together, (seemingly) energetically talking about the issues at hand. This is an example of synchronous discussion-the students are in the same room, ostensibly discussing the same topic (the caption says they are "debating search engine liability," which sounds really interesting to me, at least).

I did a generic search for online learning, and this was the first result. It is interesting that Harvard has vested so much in its online presence. At one point the online certificate was described as Harvard "branded," which made me cringe a bit.

This is a fun way to do exam review and could be done online in a Zoom session or whatever you use.
