From the journal Computers & Education, results of a 10-year study on Twitter use in higher education reports little causality between Twitter use and learning performance but indicates the positive impact of push technology on student-faculty and peer interaction.
I don't see the link to the article and when you enter the title directly into the webbrowser address bar, it won't open the article when found. I did find this link helpful though in identifying some uses for Twitter in Education: https://elearningindustry.com/15-ways-twitter-in-education-students-teachers. I also found that you can create a group (called Lists) in Twitter, which could be a more interactive way to conduct a Discussion.
How to create a List Click on Lists in the navigation bar. Click the Create new List icon at the top. Choose a name for your List, and a short description of the List. ... Click Next. You can then search for people and add people to your List. Click Done.

As for my article, here's a better address thru ResearchGate. Can't create the link so will need to cut-and-paste.

Once there, click on Download Full-Text PDF. You'll see an invite to join ResearchGate but the pdf should also download to your device.
