By the end of his article, Reiner advocated for social media Sabbaths, in which students would disconnect from their networks in order to more deeply engage with each other and their academic pursuits.

This website has a great list of top tech tools for formative assessments. Although they are primarily for k-12 teachers, there are many ways to incorporate into a post secondary course such as increase the complexity of questions or have the students write their own assessments. Most of these are free and and are easy to use and teach. Teachers can use these tech tools for easy and interactive formative assessments.College instructors can use these tools to measure the students' understanding of the material and assess if review or re-teaching is necessary. Small assignments can be indicators for instructors and assist in "taking the pulse" of the class.

This paper raises serious doubts regarding the success of our educational system in preparing students for the knowledge society. Its effects, however, have so far proved modest." The disruption brought by the new technologies can cause an even bigger inequality in societies. Worth thinking about it.

Capstones, the cumulative, large-scale projects that two-thirds of students seeking bachelor's degrees complete, can carry some heavy expectations. A Wiki can be thought of as a combination of a Web site and a Word document. It provides a ready to use site with a simple user interface, ability to easily add pages, and simple navigation structure. This allows students to spend more time devel- oping the content of the site, instead of trying to learn how to make one.
