List.ly, according to co-founder Nick Kellet, is "true social curation with lists as a metaphor." List.ly is all about creating and curating lists. You can create lists of tips or lists of websites or lists of anything you can think of that your potential clients would be interested in.

List.ly is an excellent tool for curating web resources. You can then embed these lists into your blog, wiki, or content pages in your institutions learning management system. Other list.ly users can even request to add resources to your curated list. You can sign up for list.ly and it's free.

I need to check these out. I am not familiar with all of them.

Even just in this assignment, I feel like I am getting bombarded with information from Tumblr, Twitter, Diigo in addition to what we get in e mails, texts, Facebook and Nexflix, etc. Whew. So much reading- so little time and energy.

Interesting article on student study groups. Introduction includes the potential pitfalls, moves on to the potentially enormously benefits, then offers a long list of suggestions for providing structure for study groups so that students benefit from them.

This article describes five different types of online cheating - plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, misrepresentation, and misbehavior. This article then goes in to three areas - Policing, Prevention, and Virtue Integration. For each of these topics there are multiple bullet points listed which help provide guidance and possible solutions to the issues. This is a very valuable link and I have bookmarked it as a future resource for reference.

This article describes the increased use in the eLearning industry to HTML5 as an authoring tool. Moving away from things like Adobe Flash has allowed new opportunities and avenues of creation possibilities to content developers. HTML5 has wide support across many different browsers and LMS platforms which makes the use of HTML5 an easy transition/addition. HTML5 does, however, have difficulty working with older browsers such as IE8. Using authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate 9 and Articulate Storyline makes HTML5 easy to use.

Recognizing the grave consequences for individual opportunity and more generally for our economy and society, the Carnegie Statway ™and Quantway ™Networked Improvement Communities have embraced an audacious goal-to increase from 5 percent to 50 percent the percentage of students who achieve college math credit within one year of continuous enrollment. As a result of the Carnegie Advancement for Teaching (CAT) work, my college will undergo a pilot program for Fall 2012 where I will be the instructor to achieve college math credit within one year on continuous enrollment. The Pathways Blog provides information about Carnegie's work to create pathways for student success in developmental education in community colleges and makes connections between Carnegie's work and that of others concerned with student struggle.
